    Pros

People were really nice and friendly. They will try their best to help you out if you have any problems. Loved it there!

    Cons

More meetings than other firms. Could have been done through emails instead of having meetings.

  4. "AG Intern"

    Pros

People were very laid-back. Lots of flexibility in the work you do and it is generally not a very heavy case burden

    Cons

Often not enough work. Not a very clear system in place for work assignments. Not a real sense of camaraderie or community.

    Advice to Management

Generally would recommend instituting a better organized program to help manage interns and perhaps give each intern a mentor or attorney to primarily work with to provide better structure.

I have been working at Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General full-time

    Pros

Opportunities to make a meaningful difference and contribute on many levels. The knowledge and experience I've obtained impacts outcomes and is acknowledged

    Cons

Salary is (to be kind) lacking. While I'd love to stay with the office for many years, it's just not feasible with the expenses even the most frugal employee incurs

    Advice to Management

Limits on my time and a living wage is detrimental to a successful outcome.

    Pros

Great exposure to public interest law. Good support from supervisors and intern managers. Very interesting speakers that came in to address the whole intern class, ranging from tech specialists to lawyers who argued in front of the supreme court.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic, and many people do not want to know about what others are doing.

    Advice to Management

Provide variety to the intern class, and make the environment more fun and engaging for a younger group of people.

  10. "Great entry level job despite pay"

    Pros

Good experience, lots of responsibility, friendly employees, and you feel like you're making a difference. Overall just a great place to work.

    Cons

Pay is terrible. All state jobs pay well below market value. It's not something you can do forever but it helped launch my career.

    Advice to Management

Lobby, lobby, lobby the legislature to get more money for salaries. If you want to keep people you need to be more competitive in terms of compensation
