I have been working at Massage Luxe part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility to leave if no appointments are booked, somewhat decent pay

    Cons

Favortism, discrimination, unorganized, clueless management, and beware they will lure you in with an attractive pay at your interview and you start working, and realize none of it is true.

    Advice to Management

This company lies to their employees and does not fulfill promises. They also expect you to be okay with them walking all over you. I would never recommend this job to anyone.

I worked at Massage Luxe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really got along with the various employees, and loved working with appreciative clients

    Cons

Owners will appear friendly, easy going and will promise a nice work environment. Upon your start you will be micromanaged beyond belief, and nothing you do will be good enough. You will be underpaid, overworked (45 hours a week or more). If you need a day off, LOL need to make it up no matter what!!! You will make minimal commission and be promised large bonuses that will never come. Must work Saturdays and Sundays almost all year.

    Advice to Management

STOP TAKING CREDIT CARDS TO HOLD RESERVATIONS. Learn the basics of customer service in order to actually retain customers instead of making money off of their misfortune. Treat employees as YOU would want to be treated. Do not LIE to employees and make promises you cannot keep. Don't make manager fight each other to see who is the best. Pay a decent salary to Management that they can live off of.

I worked at Massage Luxe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The coworkers were nice as well as the facility .
It's great for expirenice if you're looking to learn how to answer phones.
    Flexible Scheduleing was a plus.

    Cons

If you're a male and under the age of 24 there will be a microscope on you regarding your performance.

Shallow, it was made clear from day one that you have to be "cute" in order to work front desk.
Training was very limited and was expected to perform flawlessly in less than 2 months.

You'll be told you're coming in as a Full time employee but only receive part-time hours, unless you're an attractive female and able get people to sign up for memberships.

    Advice to Management

Be more welcoming to new hires so they don't feel like they need to walk on eggshells.

    Pros

Used a great skincare line, beautiful spa, loyal clientele for the most part, great prices on massages and facials , and its a good part time job or weekend job.

    Cons

Being that I am from New York , I am used to people with stronger work ethics. When I moved to Florida it was a major adjustment for me in a workplace. I worked at massage luxe for the last two years at both locations the one in Lutz and the one in St. Petersburg . My experience working at both locations was for the most part ok , learned alot about the spa business and about people. I thought a few people were complete utter slobs, found myself cleaning up after people a majority of the time.

    Advice to Management

"Advice to management" listen to what the therapists and estheticians have to say chances are they know more about how to a run a spa then you do.
