I worked at Massey Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Because of the turn over you can move into an office manager position rather quickly.

    Cons

There is no formal training for office staff, so a lot of what you learn is by trial and error. You are expected to manager your managers. There is no overtime, even when extra projects are loaded on your already heavy schedule. Be prepared to do the work of 2-3 people with no extra assistance.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example and listen to complaints of the office staff. Their concerns are warranted.

I worked at Massey Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty Good Benefits, BUTTTTTTTTTT not much to have a pro on a company that does not care about their employees

    Cons

There is no communication in the company, everyone blows you off when you have an issue with something that is going on and they all expect you to be able to take care of the issue at hand alone, and when you complete the issue and something is not up to par at where they would like it then they want to threaten your job. When there are people in the Management level that refuse to do anything for you and help you, and all they want to do is steal product and throw everyone else under the bus because they don't want to get into trouble. there is a lot of stealing going on in the company from the top of the food chain all the way to the inspectors and the Techs. the top of the chain they cut your check and take money from you when you honestly worked for it. you are required to work at least 6 to 7 days a week to make sure that everyone gets what they are supposed to do completed. even if there is someone in the office that isn't doing their job you are going to have to pick up their slack and be able to complete your work along with theirs as well , and have to at the end of the day sign everything that you did over to that tech in that route so they can have what they need done for the month. if something is not completed the inspector gets the grunt end of it and does not get paid for the sale and they are required to give the commission back if the customer does not like the tech or the service and cancels the service. when the inspector is unable to control the tech and customer relationship. An inspector is required ( per GM ) to go to every single service provided by the tech to make sure that things are done correctly so the customer does not cancel ALONG with being able to create service and sales and be able to go and run office leads and make at least 90% sales for everything and sell every single customer at least 3 services each time that you go to their home. Techs do not have very much requirements , they just are made to do the service correctly ( if they feel ) ( but no one is watching ) most of the time all they do is pull up to a house and sit in their trucks for a large amount of time and get out and leave sign in yard along with run up to the house put the paper work on the door and run back to the truck to leave the house and not do a single thing at the house. to have the customer call with in a week or so for the tech to come back out and actually do the service. it really sucks for the customers that are out of town and let the techs know that they do not 100% live in the home. at that time the tech will not go and do any services at the home at any time that the customer is not home is hopes to have the month finished quickly as needed per massey requirements. Massey services puts off that the services and everything is awesome and everyone works together.

No one works together and it is extremely stressful. you have no family time. Massey Services will then become your family. you will spend more time in your car or truck or office then you will at your own home with your own family. They don't pay anything, and they don't pay you your worth in the company. when they offer you raises they then will give you the raise along with a bunch more things to take up the time for the raise.
    Guaranteed hours
6am-8pm at LEAST Monday thru Saturday
No over time. no one is paid hourly everyone is by the services that are done and sold. the only people who have an hourly time is the office people and they work from 8am-6pm in 2 shifts Monday thru friday
and they do not go over hours and when they do they leave early and do not come in on certain days.

Massey is not the best place to work and put your time into.
If you want a place that you want to know everyday that your job is there and that you don't want to have to worry about losing your job and not having any income , if you want a job with a pay check and being able to pay all of your bills then MASSEY SERVICES is not the place for you.
If you want a job that you can move up in and get to make more money . A job that there is always job security. being able to come to work with a smile and get your job done without someone always breathing down your neck? WELL I WOULD HAVE TO TELL YOU MCDONALDS IS BETTER THEN WORKING FOR MASSEY SERVICES!

    Advice to Management

Communicate with your employees. They are there many many hours in day for nothing to be done for them. They are told to reach out for help and that their will always be someone there to help out where needed. instead they reach out and that they are either ignored or they are pushed off and told that no one can help them or take care of them at that time that they will have to wait a few hours when the customer or the issue at that time is right infront of them at the time.
Your employees need to have someone there that will take care of them, If the management takes care of their employees the Employees will take care of the management.
There should be no excuse why there is such a horrible roll over in positions with Massey Services and why employees don't stick around.

I have been working at Massey Services (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's a job at least.

    Cons

Impossible demands. I tried talking to my GM about the impossible goals they set and only managed to make things worse.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the antiquated P&P and start over in the 21st century. Who still uses pagers?......Massey.

    Pros

Benefits, go home whenever your route is done for the day, and great reputation.

    Cons

Low pay, you can't take company truck home like other companies in the pest industry.

    Advice to Management

Higher base pay and let tech's take trucks home like your competitors.

    Pros

Commission pay. You work most Saturdays and don't get overtime pay for hours over 40. Work weeks are 65+ hours with no overtime pay for hours worked over 40.

    Cons

You will work almost every Saturday, and at least 65 hours a week and not get overtime pay for hours over 40. Work life balance is horrible.

    Advice to Management

Revise the pay schedule to pay techs for all of the hours they work.

    Pros

Cheap lawn service for former employee

    Cons

Lawn service is horrible! This has been going for 6 months now! 4 months in a row I had two big brown spots in my front lawn! For 4 months no one has noted it on my service reports! Finally caught the tech in my yard and I get the normal Massey answer.... I dont know what it is so I will treat it with potassium! So another tech and I get the same answer. Then the service manager comes out and 2 months later still got 2 big brown spots in my lawn!

    Advice to Management

    Better training!
