    I worked at Mastercard full-time

    Pros

MasterCard company is good, employee friendly policies. Really a good place to work for

    Cons

Mastercard Vadodara hub is spoiling the Mastercard image and brand. Management is not at all supportive for the candidates joining from outside, no recognition and appreciation of the work done. Very political typical gujju culture where only local people can survive and grow. Managers are really biased and personal relationships are given importance at the work place. Very immature and unprofessional work culture. I left the company only because of the manager I was working under. He was a big diplomat who didn't have the courage to speak on the face.

    Advice to Management

I would request to senior management in US to do something about this facility. As per me, somebody at group head level should join from outside if we really want to see the changes. The existing local management will not do anything. They will keep working in the way they are working from CSam days.

I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Stable job, good facilities, health insurance, frequent company events, great for networking, great for learning new skills, diverse and open employer

    Cons

Internal politics can make it hard to step up the career ladder, bureaucracy makes even the simplest of issues take months to be solved, the work experience can vary wildly from one department to another, management can be clueless on what the team is doing, company pushes for "family first, job second" but doesn't hold up to it

    Advice to Management

The selection process is thorough, and employees are selected based on knowledge of their own craft. Yet management frequently tries to micromanage, pushes for unrealistic deadlines despite being told off, managers don't seem to communicate internally, and the politics of "fix the dam only after it breaks" reduces morale. Trust your employees that they know what they are doing, and listen to them when they suggest ways to improve the workplace and the job.

Interaction among different teams and experience of working in a large organization

    Cons

    Technology is becoming an impediment.
Even though steps are being taken to move towards newer and better ways, its not being done swiftly enough

I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful benefits, great coworkers, ability to work from home/remote as needed. Flexibility for work/life balance.

    Cons

Silo'd business units, highly political, talk the talk of a tech company, but having difficulty actually walking the walk

    Advice to Management

Have your executive team engage with employees in more meaningful ways - the surveys don't mean anything if you don't follow-up to understand the concerns and make meaningful changes.
