I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

MasterCard is a technology company that is nothing short of a typical bay area company. It is a fast-paced company, there is a strong drive for collaborative work culture, innovative technology and creativity at every step.

The bar is set pretty high in comparison to other mid-west companies which makes the workforce somewhat unique in the market that are high-tech.

MasterCard truly invests in its employees. I was fortunate enough to get so much of training and mentoring.

    Cons

Compared to few years, work-life balance has improved a lot, however I believe there is still a little room for improvement.

    Advice to Management

Keep bringing in the great strategy and acquisition ideas. While change is good, the employee base should be better explained on the reasons for changes. What is explained when the strategy is set and what happens on the ground seems a bit off.

I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stupendous base salary and bonus with great career growth prospects. You get a chance to work with some of the smartest payment minds on the planet those who are not only intelligent but down to earth. Great benefits. 401 K out of the world. MC has posted double digit profits every single year since past 15 years that has resulted in out of the line bonus payments. You get a chance to work on innovative products which help the world in a big way.

    Cons

Need to improve on tech infrastructure. You get a feeling that you are back in 2012. Work can get crazy during peak seasons. Some of the employees are yet to see the PUR headquarters due to the proximity from the city. The company can look to invest some money on shuttles from NYC to PUR, which will be helpful for employees staying in Manhattan but are required to travel to PUR on a daily basis. Needs to re-think about strategical products to remain ahead of the competition. Some teams get extensive travel budgets while others have to plead to get one to accommodate training.
