I have been working at Mastercard as a contractor

    Pros

The atmosphere is fantastic. The building amenities surpass any company I've ever worked for and been around the block a few times. Opportunities abound!

    Cons

Continuity. Business groups that need to work together don't well (process/understanding). Things are just all over the place. Too many contingent workers maybe. Streamlined training and management of resources would likely be helpful.

    Advice to Management

Know MasterCard policy and your business group policy like you know your name. Set stands up front.

I worked at Mastercard (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Medical, dental, vision. Good 401k match 6% plus 1.25% discretionary. CEO is fabulous. Listen to him every chance you get.

    Cons

Lost smaller company feel. Lots of bureaucracy even though CEO discourages.

    Advice to Management

    Fix bureaucracy. Make processes easier

    Pros

    - People from all departments willing to share information and collaborate
    - Interesting projects with financial institutions

    Cons

    - Horrible HR
    - Some project managers often verbally abuse junior employees and it is impossible to file cases against them

    Advice to Management

    - There have been multiple HR cases against higher project managers since I've joined and no action has been taken, as HR continues to close cases without any action since the project managers are very profitable employees
