I worked at Mastercard full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work from home option
    Pretty good annual bonus
    Pretty good 401k matching
    Plenty of vacation time
Most teammates were good to work with, both the experienced and newer people.

    Cons

There is a lot of immaturity. Examples include communication emails that try to joke but are just nonsense. Another is an online forum where employees submit questions where the serious ones are ignored while the playful ones are answered with an equally useless answer.

Culture is one where favorites get the promotions and recognition regardless of actual work accomplished compared to teammates.

Says it's a technology company. While there are some efforts to become one, it's not even close when compared to the true tech companies.

Other than the annual bonus payout, there really is no incentive during review time (little to no raises, rewards come in form of restricted stock that has no value unless you stay employed there for 3 more years).

Compensation is behind other tech companies.

Health insurance benefits are the worst I've had compared to other companies I've worked at.

    Advice to Management

Remove barriers and unnecessary processes if you want to be a fast moving tech company.

Give employees the tools they need to do their job without waiting months for approval.

Recognize all of your good employees.

Stop renaming your management roles to new titles to make the roles sound more important.

I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been part of this amazing company for 16 years. Here I've gotten the opportunity to live and work in different countries, enrich myself and family from different cultures, have a network of friends and colleagues from many places in the world and with so diverse points of view. I feel privileged and grateful at the same time as Mastercard has given me plenty of opportunities to develop my skills, broaden knowledge and my view of the world in a challenging and very demanding yet collaborative place.

    Cons

We have many opportunities and problems as an organization. No question about it. But I think of them as challenges an opportunities to learn and enrich the world. We wouldn't have jobs in problem-free organizations.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in the development of the people of this organization.

I have been working at Mastercard full-time

    Pros

Environment for learning at a fast pace depending on the team you are on. Some teams have much more opportunities than others.

    Cons

Very strong push to move a lot of jobs to full time employees in India. There is a huge focus on training these new highly under-qualified employees. Things that should be common knowledge for an IT engineer now have to be documented in a step by step manor.
