    Pros

Plenty of resources, very open and collaborative environment with senior employees willing to take the time to mentor newer, younger employees. Office is shifting to a more tech company feel. CEO is great and has wonderful vision for the company

    Cons

Employees are very hardworking but seemed to be a lack of work-life balance at times, especially for commuters. In my division, some would show up at 7am and not leave the office until 7pm. Upper level management was not always completely aware of what was happening at the lower level.

    Advice to Management

Continue to instill your collaborative culture throughout all levels of employees as it was clear to see that some of the more tenured employees were not fully engaged with it

I worked at Mastercard full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management encourages free exchange of ideas and suggestions for improvement. Great benefits (although reduced over the last 7 years) and opportunities to grow if you join at a junior level. Be sure to take classes to learn about the industry and how transaction processing works.

    Cons

MC is a changing environment - it will be much easier to join if you are under 30 and do not mind working hard; not very family friendly. It is a progressive culture but do not be fooled into thinking the games are there to be used, just looked at.

    Advice to Management

I would advise finance management to rethink who they are putting in senior roles ... there are many unqualified managers that are not supportive of their teams. Poor allocation of responsibilities amongst team members. No cross training or sharing of ideas within the function.

I have been working at Mastercard full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nearly unlimited opportunities to change the payments world
    Decent pay and benefits

    Cons

There are massive disparities in workload and accountability between different business units. 10% of the positions in Purchase could be eliminated with no adverse impact on the business
Legacy executive management needs to move on (rich and old, in tune with a cash cow not a growth story)

    Advice to Management

Pull off the bandaid and make the changes that are needed.
    Recognize performance not posturing

    I worked at Mastercard full-time

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good professional co-workers, nice building, and good company support

    Cons

Managers don't seems to be in synch with working force, too much pressure on working on due dates, market needs not in synch with Agile efforts.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your products are what the market is demanding, in finance it never works well when the company force their products to their customers.

    Pros

    -Truly globally integrated
-Some very talented colleagues, unfortunately many have left or been restructured out
    -Technology
-St Louis brains, plus Finance and Legal partners are brilliant

    Cons

-Senior Leaders out of touch with staff under SBL level
-Priceless concept gone off the rails and often not making sense, too many discounted offers that are not in fact priceless on any level. Marketing is weak, don't know what they are doing.
-Performance review process is useless, does not factor in to decisions around promotions, raises, career progression.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of performance reviews
