I worked at Mastercard full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great business with tremendous global growth potential. Some very good people in executive ranks. Great work/life balance and benefits are generally quite good.

    Cons

Slow to recognize under performers - at the most senior levels. A bit of cronyism with friends of CEO. Need to recruit more women for executive levels.

    Advice to Management

Ease up on recruiting millennials. Yes, they are the future but should not be valued over existing global talent.

I have been working at Mastercard as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Extremely helpful and outgoing employees
    - Regular advisory and informatory sessions with senior figures at the firm
    - Internship is planned to give interns a general idea of the firm's various businesses, expanse and operations
    - Corporate social responsibility activities are part of the intern program

    Cons

    - The business is considerably risk averse, which may make it less lucrative for young job seekers
    - MasterCard is not the biggest player in the payments industry
    - Friday's are basically "half-days", which can be a pro and a con depending on preference

    Advice to Management

Management is doing everything to maintain its position and grow as well. However, competition is stiff with new players entering in the industry and established firms dominating as well.

Older company. Aimed toward those with families. Decent commute from younger areas of St. Louis
