    Pros

    If you are willing to learn then you might get few chance to grow at the same time keeping in mind that you would face lots of barrier for doing extra work, there are lot of people who are in comfort and they will try to let you down when ever some try to do something innovative or new.

    Cons

    Personally doesn't refer anyone to work at MasterCard Vadodara office because here people tendency and mindset is just like cheap guy working in a small company full of politics.

    And if you are good at handling politics then it's a good place to work because manager here at this location only to buttering specially in QA where they are not willing to learn and develop.

    Good company but typically older company culture C-Sam

    Advice to Management

    Please take care of environment it is running day by day especially in QA organization where people doesn't want to learn any thing new.

    Cons

    First thing working with C-SAM not MasterCard
    Waste HR department
    TOO much of politics.
    Inefficient Managers
    No Transparency
    Car Parking issue

    Advice to Management

    Take review and of mangers (if not taken) and take some action on it.

    I worked at Mastercard (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Salary is very competitive comparing to the workload
    Non-challenging work hours with good work-life balance
    Decent support from regional and global teams

    Cons

    Very, very political especially at the country level

    Country manager. You need to do a lot of kissing up if you are in the country market. Favortism is common. If your direct boss loves you , you get the good accounts and all the supports. Your accounts will be the priority if the boss favors you. And any customer complaints will be ignored and in some cases. You will get tons of supports even in terms of new hires to help you do the jobs that you should have been able to complete yourself. If the boss doesnt like you, you get a ton of griefs.

    Company's benefits are discriminatly applied at country level. Same company....same position.....same country, but the country head can refuse to grant you certain benefits but not to your colleagues.

    Escalation and reports of inappropriate activities do not work, not in the reporter's favor.

    Advice to Management

    Make sure that when you send auditors to audit in-country activities, the auditor can actually do the job and accurately reports and is not afraid of the country's management. Auditng a country's business should not be a 3-4 days vacation.

    Please be mindful of cases that people are complaining of heavy, unbearable workload but they come to the office around noon and leave around 5pm.

    If your staff come to work late and leave around 5pm, you do not need to hire more people to help them do the job, especially if they already have full support from the regional teams.

    Consider carefully of what the country reports to you. I have heard of a few costly incidents where the country head was being rude to a very senior level customer and the incidents were hushed at the country level with the blame placed at the customer and/or the account rep. In some country, even the customers are required to do a bit of kissing up to the country management.

    Strong global and regional teams who know where the opportunities are...trust them and please have faith in them. They know how to compete with the competitors while most country teams only strive to match the competitors with how many staff we have in the country.

    No other pros, everything else is cons.

    Cons

    Very poor people management. They are not doing their job well. Just hiring does not fulfill everything but maintaining relationship and +ve environment within teams and members is highly required. Managers do not care about all these. Too much difference between what they actually say and what they follow/do. No technical activities, everything just show off

    Advice to Management

    My heartily request to higher management from US to take reviews from technical developers at Vadodara and do quick action as soon as possible.

    Pros

    Good Work life balance,
    Good insurance policy, Most important good leaves and no pressure on minimum working hours

    Cons

    No onsite, Disruptive management decision on employee retention,
    Indians in US (upper management) are racist - No onsite to offshore employees.
    Pathetic HR - all talent retention policies are meant for non-Indian (US folks).
    Higher management never bother to listen real feedback on employee retention and keep enjoying recruitment cycle.

    Advice to Management

    Looks like soon all India HUB oofices will be shut down, if they don't change their mindset to retain employees here, rather than recruiter outer vendor, contractors.

    Pros

    Fun, varied markets, opportunity to learn. You meet and speak to people from different parts of the world getting a lot of experience in the process.

    Cons

    The company preaches career advancement but you hardly see this in practice save for a few connected persons. Diversity is a big problem, again talked about a lot but really poor.

    Advice to Management

    Look around and listen to what staff are saying.

    Pros

    The only reason someone would join would be brand MasterCard. an Initial salary and policies may look good but that is everywhere provided for good skills.

    Cons

    There are unlimited. There is a clear bias and discrimination from the management at the onsite while providing any benefits. They discriminate while providing any policy benefits to the onsite and employees located in Pune. Even the Pune local management has made it worse by following the path of their onsite manager. There is no transparency . They are more interested into creating conflicts, monitoring people for every minute they spend or even for the breaks taken. There is no work life balance, no work or calls from home allowed even when it is late . They are least concerned about full time employees as they think with money they can always choose the contract employees. The power is in the hands of managers and if they want they can do anything even if it is not in line with MasterCard values. And somebody who speaks against them, they make the life miserable. There is also no clear path with respect to career progression as even though good technical talent joins MasterCard, the management without skills not just technical but also people management make the MasterCard brand and image look poor.

    Advice to Management

    You need to keep your eyes open and look at things going wrong . If people are leaving or there is discrimination, it needs to be noticed and action should be taken. Sooner or later, no talent would stay for longer.

    Pros

    Policies are really good.. very employee friendly policy but all in vain if you have useless management

    Cons

    Too much power concentrated in wrong hands.. if you are unlucky enough to be under a bad manager or management kiss goodbye to your personal life. It is as if they own you as they are paying you salary. Work overload, no work from home even if it is late, micro management, biased towards certain employees.

    Advice to Management

    If you want to retain employees, listen to why they are leaving.. work on the feedback provided. Or else this will be an excellent company failing in India due to ignorance by management.
