    Pros

Cool employees. Many are very talented which is necessary to compensate for the poor leadership. Big name clients *sounds better than it is

    Cons

Work life balance goes away within weeks of starting Unqualified managers - clueless to how projects actually get done. Workload is not at all equal among individuals and teams. Most of staff is pretty miserable and actively looking to leave causing a high turnaround rate. Many inappropriate jokes and comments in meetings. (Bro mentality runs rampant) Managers don't respect your time. No room for growth....

    Advice to Management

Hire some leaders that actually know what they're doing or promote from within. Most department leaders aren't respected and are not supportive of their teams. So much money being wasted on inefficiencies and unnecessary expenses. Start respecting people's time and abilities and encourage growth and mentoring. Get rid of the dead weight.

I worked at Match Marketing Group part-time for less than a year

    Pros

No weekend work duty. A few great team leads.

    Cons

    Not enough hours. Poor manager.

    Advice to Management

Be upfront about the reality of the hours when hiring people. I was told upon hiring that I would be very busy starting in January, all the way through the Fall resets. Was also told I could get even more hours if I was willing to travel. Almost immediately, in February, I had to ask my manager for more hours, even after offering to travel. The response, if the manager bothered at all to reach out, was that expenses...

I have been working at Match Marketing Group part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

flexible scheduling; plenty of work if willing to travel; hardworking and loyal co-workers; great for independent workers; good variety of work offerings, often in higher-end retail settings

    Cons

some area managers lack proper HR and scheduling skills (most are excellent); poor collaboration between area managers when merchandisers have easy access to more than one region; poor communication between corporate project managers and on-site merchandisers; declining merchandiser recruitment and retention; little to no opportunities to advance

    Advice to Management

Listen to long-time employees in regards to problems at area management level; require all area managers to live full time in the area they manage and to occasionally work in the field with their merchandisers; facilitate communications between neighboring area managers (many merchandisers live equidistant to two separate 'areas', but are only allowed to work in the area they were hired in); improve communication/provide...

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time

    Pros

The people in the Chicago office are great.

    Cons

Everything else. Everyone else. Garbage company. Terrible culture. Financially falling apart. Dictatorship run by Boys club of outdated dinosaurs. No vision. The only thing employees are aligned on is a dedication to leave the company ASAP. Takes over promising and underdelivering to a whole new level. “bait & switch” is just as much true for clients as it is for employees. All the good people have left...

    Advice to Management

Hahaahahhahahahahah oh that’s funny. Not a chance in hell anyone on that Leadership team would take advice. Period. They will run that company to the ground just to be “right.”

    Pros

Ok I’ll find one: the clients are awesome By the way it should be noted that I need to give at least a star but truly I would give ZERO

    Cons

    * horrible senior management - does not keep you in the loop on anything * management that is outright hostile to you and ignores you * HR department that doesn’t investigate your complaints - NEVER responded back to mine in over 3 months. * caddie coworkers * zero raises (in the yr and a half I worked there * allows unqualified managers to perform yearly reviews that are inaccurate and wrong * egos within the...

    "DONT WOORK for this company"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Nashville, TN

I worked at Match Marketing Group part-time

      Pros

None this company is bad to work for

      Cons

I was to run a red box route, what they don’t tell you is the person your filling in for is going on vacation , so their last route they don’t do anything, and it’s a long long route, on top of that you will not see your pay for a month. One of worst companies I’ve ever had dealing with , do yourself a favor it’s not worth time or money in gas for this company

      Advice to Management

Be honest up front about job and waiting so long to get paid

I have been working at Match Marketing Group full-time

        Pros

Decent clients, established agency, and that's about it.

        Cons

Unfair and sexist work environment. It is a production agency, not a creative agency. Would never recommend working there to anyone.
