I have been working at Match Marketing Group part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay is good for a merchandising job

    Cons

Long Hours. They do not tell you up front that you will work well over 40 hours in a week.

    Advice to Management

Train the leads better. The team leads know the work but are not good at handling the teams. They do not have the skills to be managing employees.

I have been working at Match Marketing Group

    Pros

Team atmosphere, great group of co-workers, top tier clients, creativity is encouraged, generous vacation policy, powder days, always an opportunity to voice opinions

    Cons

Like any experiential marketing agency, there are periods of intense travel and long hours. Usually, there is adequate recovery time before the next program launch.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote from within, let the culture of each office evolve naturally and keep rewarding/recognizing the best and hardest working employees on a regular basis

    Pros

fun work environment and great people.

    Cons

Favoritism from high level management for certain team members. Long hours for some as work is not divided up equally and they are understaffed as a whole. Morale is at an all time low. Management does not share important information to the entire agency.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time

    Pros

Culture is young and can be fun at times. Can do the bare minimum work, or act like you don't know how to do something and easily skate by for more than a few years. Management is afraid of confrontation so there's no fear of not meeting expectations.

    Cons

Revenue has plummeted, and so have bonuses. Low pay even for a marketing company. Long hours. No room for growth. Clients constantly unhappy. Dramatic- average maturity level of your local middle school. Everyone from senior management to juniors talk about coworkers behind their back. Fires to put out almost weekly.

    Advice to Management

Treat your clients as well as they pay you. Value your employees.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great culture. Made friends easily - many of whom I still see on a weekly basis. Fun work environment. Snacks and drinks always available. Senior management supportive of new ideas; enjoyed seeing junior level staff exceed potential and grow in the industry.

    Cons

Like many agencies, the senior-level focus seems to be on the amount of revenue versus what is most beneficial to both the client and staff... especially during times of change (i.e. acquisitions). Long hours and low pay. Internal promotion is hot and cold. I saw people promoted 3 levels in 2 years time, but also saw deserving people remain at the same level for 3 YEARS, with...

    Advice to Management

Despite the office perks (booze, food, parties), it's hard to extinguish turnover rates when there are absolutely zero provided incentives. You can only tell yourself that the (almost completely covered) gym membership is worth it for so long...

I have been working at Match Marketing Group

    Pros

The people that (do the work) here are fantastic. There are some very talented members of creative, account and production teams.

    Cons

No one at the company trusts senior management. Senior management talks a good game about keeping great talent, but instead focus on a few "pets" and throw the rest out to pasture. Employees are continually dissatisfied and set up to fail through long hours, crazy deadlines, overflow of projects with no salary increases, career advancement or recognition.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to your employees. Don't make promises you can't keep.
