I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Creative problem solving is an almost-daily requirement of the job. If you are looking to be challenged regularly, you will find this here. - Collaboration is essential. If you like working in a team-based environment, you will also find this here. - Clients are extremely varied by industry, and depending on your team, you can be exposed to a wide set of clients/consumer types/markets. - Office social culture...

    Cons

Too long/didn't read version: salaries are low, paid time off is generous but not guaranteed, work/life balance is nonexistent, pathways to growth are largely indecipherable, and ACs are by and large considered replaceable and unimportant to senior leadership. In detail: - Work/life balance: there is none. It's possible you will work 80 hr weeks from the office during busy times, and 100+ hour weeks when you are...

    Advice to Management

Listen to your ACs, they are the backbone of your organization. Increasing their compensation has to be less expensive than operating in a constant loop of hiring & recruitment. Provide higher salaries for higher performing employees. Require growth conversations between Supervisors & ACs.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible hours, manage yourself environment, casual dress code, and generally good culture.

    Cons

Salary is not competitive for the market, and there is zero to no option for bonuses unless you have a "VP" in front of your title. Very poor management, no transparency even though upper management prides itself in being transparent. Parent company only knows how to acquire small businesses, but has no idea on how to run and maintain a successful company.

    Advice to Management

At least try to retain talented people before they jump ship to better companies. Your ship is sinking fast because there are no more skilled people left to do the job, and you end up hiring straight out of college kids that quit after 6 months.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

VERY few...I am struggling to think of anything worth being called a "pro" - Good luck working at this office.

    Cons

TOO MANY. WAY too much drama...upper management/executives DO NOT take criticism well. When their employees voice concerns, they do nothing about it. They sweep things under the rug unless it comes from a client. Favorites are played every day and the blind leads the blind in that office. Credit is not given where due and there is absolutely NO LEADERSHIP. I was disgusted to...

    Advice to Management

Take leadership classes or recruit new leaders who can actually make a difference and be a great role model for other employees. When your employees are voicing concerns, LISTEN and TAKE ACTION. It is a concern for a reason. Don't only give credit to upper management - give it where it is due. Chill out - not everything is a 9-1-1 emergency.

      Pros

Good people who work hard and are willing to help each other. Team work is a positive. Some people are trying to improve things internally.

      Cons

Ego-driven creative and upper management. Promotions are based more on relationships/ internal politics.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than a year

      Pros

This company is full of extremely talented people. Office culture is fun and there's a lot of company pride.

      Cons

Almost 2 years ago, the Norwalk office went through a lot of changes as the result of a merger. Upper management made a lot of bad decisions during that time that has lead to a lot of dissatisfaction among employees. It seems like they do not at all listen to their employees and refuse to make decisions in the best interest of the company, and as a result, they've lost major...

      Advice to Management

If you don't show your employees that you value them, they're going to continue to leave this company. Making promises you can't keep, making employees work tirelessly without any sort of recognition or compensation, and continuing to pretend that everything is fine when it's not is going to continue to drive this company into the ground.

I worked at Match Marketing Group full-time for more than a year

      Pros

There is a great collaborative atmosphere. The employees tend to be in a good mood even when stressed and over worked. they put effort into a good employee experience.

      Cons

Communication is poor. People I was managing were let go and I wasn't notified, I found out by hearing others talk about it, not from upper management. There are people there that don't seem to know what is going on, and seem to take no responsibility or blame when programs they are supposed to be supervising have problems

      Advice to Management

communicate better with your team. Do a little research when things go wrong, hold everyone involved responsible rather than passing blame to one person.

        Pros

Extra vacation day on long weekends Great benefits RRSP contributions Flexible work hours if requested

        Cons

This place has gone downhill in a wheel barrel. What started as a company that prides themselves on integrity and trust has become a company of lies, deceit and games. They are loosing clients like crazy, and keep hiring high priced, useless “Sr leadership” staff and cutting the “little guys” jobs.
