    Pros

    -Excellent place to gain experience
-Office social club is very active and fun
-Young average age for a proffessional office
-Open Door policy with senior management

    Cons

-Matrikon actually has an excellent open door policy with senior management. Myself and my department never had a problem with this. Except the fact that when we do bring something critical up nothing gets done about it. In fact there was one time where we brought a very important issue regarding a manager to our senior management and we were written up by Human Resources for "not going through the proper channels to address the issue". What is the point of having an open door policy if issues will not be dealt with at that level? Needless to say the issue was never brought up again due to fear of getting written up again or let go.
-Some frontline managers are inexperienced with leadership and management. Cannot properly guide there employees to grow or gain experience.
    -Salaries are not competitive.
-When more roles and responsibilities are given, no compensation is provided. Basically, more work, yet same pay.
-Extremely high turnover rate for a corporate company.

    Advice to Management

Senior Management - Please do a thorough evaluation of leadership and management skills of your frontline managers as they are the ones that encourage the growth of your employees which means growth of your company. Please do not stress an open door policy if you do not want to deal with your employees issues.

Frontline Managers - Please be a leader and someone to look up to. If you lack knowledge in a certain area, try to go learn it instead of using your employees as an excuse.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - Good place to learn or begin a career
    - Friendly atmosphere (among low level people)

    Cons

    - No opportunities for advancement. Matrikon has a very flat management structure. Moves are either lateral or just an increase in responsibility with no additional pay.
    - You will be treated as expendable and have no bargaining power. There are 8000 more where you came from.
    - A popular phrase at Matrikon "You will never be able to do what you do here at any other company" is 100% false. Not only will leaving Matrikon expand your horizons it will improve your morale.
    - You will be asked to accept a salary freeze while senior management is granted bonuses for frugality.
    - If you work very hard and are there longer than a year your reward will be a lay off as soon as Matrikon hits a now-regular down period.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating employees as a line item on a spreadsheet.

    Pros

There are some extremely talented people working here who are very willing to mentor you.
There are lots of opportunities to learn.

    Cons

    Sweatshop.
    No recognition for hard work.
You will rise up the ranks fast if you know how to brown nose and play the office politics game.
Many of the senior level employees (aside from the senior developers) are fakes. They dont know what they are talking about and are only looking out for their personal benefit.
Benefits are taken out of your paycheck.
    Pay is generally low.
If you don't work overt time..you don't get anywhere.
If you work overtime, you don't get compensated enough.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees as a commodity.
Give the employees them real respect and recognition for the work they do.
End the culture of working overtime to gain any ground in the company.
