I have been working at Matthews International full-time

    Pros

    - growing company
    - engaging environment
    - a place for young talent to learn and grow
    - flexible
    - salary/wages

    Cons

    - vacation - it is not competitive with other companies. I took a cut in vacation, though that was offset by a bump in pay. Should consider raising their vacation.
    - change from vacation/sick to PTO - most employees do not like this set up

I have been working at Matthews International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and freedom. Everyone is usually friendly and willing to share knowledge. Oversight isn't overbearing. As long as you deliver business results, everything is good.

    Cons

Constant reaction to aquisition integration is draining. Many times, you're on your own and support from other business departments (HR/IT) is very basic.

    Advice to Management

Make time to measure your employee's performance, develop them across businesses if you can't develop them vertically in your business and ensure you're paying a market-competitive salary.

    Pros

If you like a challenge and new experiences, you will be given as much (or more) as you can handle. There are some very nice people working here.

    Cons

The three R's that we are all looking for: Respect, Recognition, Reward - forget it. Only politics will get you ahead and the men make the rules.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the dead wood and take the time to find out what's really going on in your company.

    Pros

No pros to the job. Everyone gets paid the same. No job titles at all. HR is a joke

    Cons

No movement. You get 30cent raise a year

    Advice to Management

They don't care. It's get down or lay down mentality

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO

I worked at Matthews International (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A company with many people who want to not only do the right thing, but do it the right way.

    Cons

Understaffed in many areas. This precludes quick response and quick action. In fact, this leads to small turf wars over what initiative will "go first".
