    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Mattress Man full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hours are abundant. The pay is good as well. Management is always helpful and accommodating. The business is easy to learn. Within a month you know the products, within three months you are able to handle an entire store by yourself. Within half a year, you are well experienced.

    Cons

If you do not live in the area, you will have to drive a lot. Simple as that. You do not get compensated for driving long distances.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Mattress Man full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

30+ hours a week. $10 an hour pay rate with 7% commission. Manager is respectful and willing to work with you concerning days off, including doctor appointments and vacations. You operate an entire store by yourself, but manager and other employees are readily available via Google Hangouts and phone calls.

    Cons

If you do not live close to the store, you will do a lot of driving. You do not get compensated for driving so much. Owner of store, NOT the manager, likes to micromanage some. Working such long shifts is kind of a lonely business, but it does pay well. From mid-June to Labor day the days are dead. The week of 4th of July is totally dead.

    Advice to Management

Do not let Owner make display decisions based on the random questioning of people who have not been, are not, and never will be, mattress salespeople.
