I worked at Mattress Overstock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay structure, great product lines, comfortable store settings, friendly environment, up and coming company with a good track record, very competitive, allows sales person flexibility, nice product pay from vendors.

    Cons

limited in number of locations so there is some driving between locations at first, retail hours get long sometimes, mostly commission. Some sales staffers were lazy and made excuses for losing sales without trying very hard and then they would blame the company for their short comings.

    Advice to Management

    More sales meetings and training.

    Pros

Small company with room for growth. Owner really involved in employees well being. Has good wage compensation to compete with the larger companies.

    Cons

Being such a small companies you don't have as many customers come through the doors. There is not as much advertising because it is such a small companies.

    Advice to Management

I think there would be alot more traffic if some or the signage at some of the stores were a little bit more colorful.

    Pros

The commission structure is a good.
Can make money if you're in the right store.
The ability to do whatever it takes to make sale.

    Cons

Communication is bad because there is no real leadership or chain of command.
If you get stuck in the slower stores you will starve to death because they don't advertise to bring customers in.
Can go days at a time depending on where you are working without seeing a customer.
