I worked at Mauldin & Jenkins full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Open door policy with management, willingness to update policies to change with the times

    Cons

CPA Firms are typically conservative in nature and M&J is no different.

    Advice to Management

More transparency is always good for lower level employees.

I have been working at Mauldin & Jenkins full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I have worked here for 10 years and plan to stay for much more. Most of the employees/Partners have been here a long time. Great benefits, great people, great culture, great opportunities, and great client service

    Cons

At the end of the day, it's work!

I worked at Mauldin & Jenkins full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company paid health and life insurance on employee only

    Cons

No annual performance bonuses given. Unused PTO is NOT paid to employee when you leave the company

    Advice to Management

To keep/attract talent, offer annual performance bonuses and pay for unused PTO. Deloitte pays out for unused PTO for employees that leave.

I worked at Mauldin & Jenkins full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, employees are easy to get along with, the busy season hours could be worse, pay seems comparable to other accounting firms

    Cons

Specialize in only a few industries, easy to get stuck in one niche after being there for such a short period of time. There is a large gap between staff and upper management.

    Advice to Management

It seems as if the old school partners do not want to try new things or change their views that would help the company grow and maintain employees

    Pros

Partners and management are friendly and for the most part easy to work with.

    Cons

Women should not expect to move up as quickly as men. There is definitely a little bit of sexism going on.

    Advice to Management

There are more women coming out of accounting schools than men. Hire and promote accordingly.
