Pros
Full of potential and opportunities to learn.
Cons
No onboarding. Tough to make connections working remote.

Pros
There are some people who really try. They work hard and they try to keep a straight face and believe everything is fun and awesome. Those people are all the people who are too new to contribute to projects - since we're hiring from the bottom of the barrel - or they're just keeping on the mask until they can find the next big thing.
Cons
Management seems to have no idea how bad things actually are. Or they do know and they're intentionally doing the "everything is fine" dog having his coffee while the building burns down meme. Every time I have interacted with anyone from ATOS they are definitely playing the "hide until someone figures out I don't do anything" game. There's people in ATOS who want to interact with us because we're supposed to be the shining stars - but what ends up happening is it just demoralizes everyone else. The ATOS employees know that their side of the house is a revolving door of "take the money and run" and that has crept into Mavenwave. I'm not even sure how we generate new business at this point since we can't seem to get many if any renewals. The final thing which encouraged me to look elsewhere was being told I needed to "land and expand" but the client hated us and I was clearly the third wave of folks through the door. I was handed a loser, I knew it, but no-one was honest with me about it.

Great Place to Work
Nov 15, 2022 - Sr Change Management ConsultantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I took the job with Maven Wave based on 3 spectacular interviews. I liked each team member I met so much, I couldn't turn the job down when they offered. Maven Wave is a team-centered, personable place to work, where people care about you, AND the work that you're doing. As a consulting firm, MW is not obsessed with forecasting and I have always been treated with care and trust. It's a breath of fresh air so far.
Cons
Becuase I'm remote, I sometimes feel a bit isolated, and it's hard to get to know my WHOLE team, and adjacent teams as well.

Maven Wave would be an amazing place to work with a few tweaks.

- lots of opportunities for growth & upward momentum in the company - WFH is a huge plus - free lunches for folks in the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays - great people - yearly bonus
Cons
- the PTO is kinda absurd (3 weeks per year really isn’t enough) - no paid sick leave (which means you must use your already-scant PTO if you get ill) - the yearly raises are pretty underwhelming - while most people are great, a LOT of people are slow to get back to you (if they even get back to you at all). This tells me a lot of people are overworked. - since the acquisition by Atos, getting initiatives off the ground can be like pull teeth. Things often get held up by corporate bureaucracy. - the benefits aren’t great

Some really good aspects, but MW may be past its peak.

Quote a few very motivated, technically skilled people. DevOps practice's management was really good, with a technical background.
Cons
The parent company Atos continues to influence the firm, leading to staff-aug style projects, poor leadership, and reduced travel opportunity. For a sometimes very stressful consulting role, the compensation is simply not competitive. Benefits are relatively weak. Company culture is very weak if you are not in Chicago. There seems to be little effort to retain talent. There's been a bit of an exodus of the more experienced people, leaving a large pool of more junior people.

Great place to work, great colleagues to work with

The X Factor is a major pro at Maven Wave. Everyone knows a great deal about their functional areas, and are more than happy to share that knowledge with you. While many of the employees work remotely, there are still plenty of opportunities to get to know each other and share our interests with on-site and livestreamed events, special interest groups, and topical chat spaces.
Cons
There are people you will come to know well, but rarely have the chance to meet face to face, due to the remote and hybrid work environment.
