I have been working at Max Life Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent training and massive amounts of resources at your disposal. Company brand is extremely strong. Compensation structure has potential for extremely high income.

    Cons

Company charges you, the agent, for everything. They charge you rent for your cubicle, your phone, internet, making copies, stationary, business cards, etc. Compensation is 100% commission. You will also lose "friends".

    Advice to Management

With the exception of a couple senior-level managers, my experience with management was positive.

    Pros

Excellent training and support for new agents.
You can't ask for a better managing partner than Mark Madgett. He is an inspiring leader who knows all the agents and cares for their success. He supports the office and all agents in the most positive, helpful and fun ways possible.

    Cons

It's commission based and the first couple of years are generally a pay it forward investment. You need to be willing to work diligently and withstand sporadic paystubs for the first few years. This is true of most financial services job, nothing specific to this office or company.

I have been working at Max Life Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The status of the company as an organization when it was known. Word in the South Florida market is not as well disseminated as with in other Eastern Seaboard States as New York, Delaware New Jersey and Connecticut. As a person coming from a salaried position it was difficult to adjust in this competitive environment.

    Cons

The competitive challenge in sales. I managed my own times except for required sales meetings. I am in business for myself and so it is up to me to make my sales target.

    Advice to Management

The company is a great company but the working environment and culture is a product of the company's managers especially the partners who manage the individual sales units. There are good managers and there are bad managers especially since their orientation is directly from their sales training and they might have very little or any sales training.

New York Life has the bet training in the business. They are friendly and really want you to focus on client needs and security.

    Cons

It is a lot of information to consume in a short period of time. You have a trail period or P-Tas period to show them what you can do before you are actually a full time agent.

    Advice to Management

Keep training and looking for the best people in and out of the business.
