I have been working at Maxim Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Amazing to see all the people working there from inception in 2002. It tells you a lot about a firm.

    Cons

    Need to grow Florida Office.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Success comes from the top down and Maxim Group has been very successful.

I worked at Maxim Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was a job that paid something.

    Cons

The upper and middle management don't care about you. The benefits were unbelievably horrible. The various departments don't get along with each other and they'll do whatever they can to get paid at the expense of others. I saw multiple physical altercations and heard of others that I wasn't present for.

    Advice to Management

Care more about your people and run the business for the long-term profit, not the short term.

I worked at Maxim Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Entrepreneurial, small, family-owned investment bank. You eat what you kill. All you get is a phone and a desk, the rest is up to you.

    Cons

No one gets a salary/bonus, commission-based only. Management doesn't incentivize people to work in teams.

    Advice to Management

Develop a culture of its own, enable people to maximize their full potential.

I worked at Maxim Group full-time

    Pros

if you work hard, Maxim has a good brand name, strong research department and constant deal flow. Position involves building your own business, there is not a lot of supervision so if you have difficulty working hard on your own may be a bad fit.

    Cons

    more guidance for younger employees

    Advice to Management

    better screen employees

I worked at Maxim Group full-time

    Pros

Nice location, family style, free snacks

    Cons

Very low base salary, has to contribute a lot of leads to the senior before you can build your own book.

    Advice to Management

Try to make more profit by expanding the business and introducing better deals, not by taking in new team members with minimum wage.

    Pros

The company culture at Maxim was laid back and almost felt like a family office. Everyone was extremely nice and willing to help.

    Cons

Unorganized Senior Management. Often had to re-do tasks because I was given the wrong directions for assignments initially.

    Advice to Management

Organize the structure of senior management. Make it clear as to who is who in the firm, it seemed that many positions were overlapping. T

    Pros

good location in the chrysler building though its on the second floor. good work/life balance. Family style.

    Cons

It seems that they don't care the quality of their work, no serious research at all.The skills and quality of the employees varies a lot. And it somehow has a fame of good at seeking dump money....

    Advice to Management

Hire good people rather than cheap dump ones.
