I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved the people that I worked with. From the Nurses, Managers and Recruiters to the Home Health Aids. Good, hard working people.

    Cons

It's like pulling teeth to get a raise.
The company as a whole is inefficient. The amount of time and energy spent shuffling paper documents is ridiculous!! I don't understand why they don't jump into this century and use the computers more!! Electronic files are the way they need to go.

    Pros

Large company and the potential to transfer anywhere in the country. Flexible. Great concept for staffing qualified nurses and healthcare workers.

    Cons

Managers don't manage and don't seem to be invested in helping to develop your career within the company. Company culture. Too much complaining by coworkers about doing the job they signed up for. No real plan for succession. Systems are unreliable and unorganized. Support for internal employees is minimal.

    Advice to Management

Manage your employees. Do your job and make sure everyone is aware of their position in the office, including you. No one should feel like they can't come to their manager about a concern simply because the manager will never do anything about it because they don't know how to assert their authority. And when you resign your position, make sure that you are appointing someone to the position that is qualified to be a manager.

    Pros

You build a great relationship with the internal staff.

    Cons

Management makes it impossible to grow within the company. The turn over rate is extremely high and the recruiters get burnt out after just a few months. The regional management team lead you on and never pay much attention to your needs. The ones that cared aren't there anymore.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff and treat them right. Don't penny pinch those that produce work and results.
