I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Weekly pay and recruiters don't make you feel bad if your unable to pickup shifts. Mishawaka staff very pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Insurance offered isn't very good for working in the environment we work. No educational furthering programs. No incentives for always helping out. Pay is not competitive at all. No sick pay and 16 hours for paid time off a year isn't much. No holiday pay. I don't feel appreciated from the company as a whole

    Advice to Management

Has the potential to be the best home care company to work for if they improved all the benefits and showed all the employees appreciation and that their job is important and valued by the company as a whole

I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Really nice office staff; they are willing to help and support you as an employee, especially the clinical coordinators. They are also very good at finding cases to offer you, but always ask questions to know if the case is right for you. Home care cases are usually long hours (8-9 hrs /day). The company also gives little gifts of appreciation here and there and employees on the field are also pleasant to work with. Pay is weekly.

    Cons

Payroll is too often incorrect (which you have to inform payroll dept. to fix) and salary isn't great.
High turnover of nurses and office staff.

    Advice to Management

Excellent job creating a supportive environment for employees, however, if you increase the pay rate, you will likely retain more employees.

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, pay was complimentary to salary in field

    Cons

On call was hard on recruiters, took on clients without having staff, expected you to do your job while taking on other roles as needed.

    Advice to Management

Hire an on call recruiter person, need to hire someone to do your mandatory 60 and 180 day visits, don't expect someone to do payroll, HR and help with medical records. Maxim management make it seems like they care but never help when have issues. Normally seemed snotty more than helpful.
