I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They offer a lot of opportunity for growth and some offices have a high ceiling for commission.

    Cons

There is a lack of relevant up to date training for everyone. They throw you to the wolves and hope you come out on top.

    Pros

Fun environment to work in - gain friends from offices all over the country, local office and regional company outings allows for great company moral, national trainings available, vast amount of opportunities for advancement/promotions, opportunity for good money through commission

    Cons

Compensation could be better, very long work hours, on-call is mandatory, very little holidays are recognized, the work and environment can be very stressful, big turn over rates

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -There literally are no pros

    Cons

-leadership predominantly doesn't have a life outside of the company, therefore you don't either -Great place to work if you don't value your family, friends, and life. -50+ hr work weeks + 24hr on call (no additional pay) and no overtime --No room for advancement/promotion -company doesn't value internal staff or patients, only concerned with profits -extremely undervalued as an employee and continually exploited -Lunch breaks are frowned upon and you are literally chained to your desk for 10-12hrs a day -incompetent & inexperienced "managers" throughout the company -AOs genuinely don't care about workers/patients and truly focus on how reduce field staff's pay -true definition of nickel & dime business model -Conference calls are hysterical because CEO is completely out of touch with the reality of the company

I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services

    Pros

Healthcare-fairly stable industry, right out of college good place to start, multi-tasking skills are aquired, promotion is obtainable with relocation, once promoted compensation can be very high

    Cons

long hours, unrealistic expecations, on-call nights/weekends, promotions based on Regional Manager opinion only, no raises until promotion, not supposed to take vacation days. No lunches or breaks. Recruiters make .75-1% of gross income per week for bonus, manager makes 10% of net income. Corporate office takes huge portion of revenue. Abusive employees and clients at all offices. Medicaid families very unappreciative of state funded free nursing services. Waking up at 3am with a nurse calling off and then having to deal with the hostile client at 8am the next morning. Not a good place to work if you have a family. Not a good place to work if you have high blood pressure or need 8 hours of sleep to function properly.

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services

    Pros

Depends on the office, but if you have a great Account Manager you can have a great experience and learn a lot about the healthcare industry. The pay is not that great, but there is opportunity to earn more. Base salary is around 35k, but you can easily make 45k - 50k in an average office. This salary range is for a Recruiter. There is a lot of turn over in the organization and the do sell you a dream, that if you stay long enough you will be able to manage your own office. Overall a good first job.

    Cons

Poor Account Manager can have a negative effect on your experience. There is a lot of turn over due to the fact that they do not have an incentive plan for longer recruiter level employees. You do not receive merit increases to your base salary for longevity. You are expected to produce your own raises through commission on services provided. The company has been through some growing pains and recently have a better grasp on quality and compliance. The company has been moving towards a more clinical mindset which has impeded growth. I believe that they are still attempting to find the right balance.

I worked at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fun, young culture. Get to work hands on with clients, and employees and learn a lot about how a business is ran from local branch level up to the corporate level

    Cons

Maxim takes full advantage of their Recruiters. You are on call 24/7, with no extra pay. It is a stressful work environment because you are working in so many different facets of the business (payroll, staffing, client coordination, account management, complaints, flu season, hiring, etc). It can really add up, and take a toll on you. Their expectations for an entry level position doesn't seem to fit to what the Recruiters expectations are for future growth within the company.

I have been working at Maxim Healthcare Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Meeting new clientele, weekends off, small office staff in the branches.

    Cons

On call for all recruiters on weekends and alternate every other day. No work/life balance, false promises from upper management, misleading information regarding future direction of the company despite the words from upper management of Honesty and Intergrity
