I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

competitive pay, good location, smart co-workers

    Cons

Only the extreme end of upper management has decision making authority. My senior VP had to approve a $5k travel plan. I spent more time justifying projects and my time than actually working on projects.

    Advice to Management

Your NPI cycle and manufacturing improvements would be cut in half if you would trust director level employees to actually make decisions that involve expenditures.

I have been working at Maxim Integrated (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really technical, great analog/digital/mix-signal designer on the site. For broadening your technical horizon, it's definitely worth speeding a few years in Maxim

    Cons

Stingy. Usually, you won't get much pay compared to average industrial standard. Other benefits are less also.

    Advice to Management

Have more team-building activities. Have more benefits for employees.

I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and stock option program. Probably a good place to be an analog IC designer.

    Cons

Arcane bonus formula with no apparent linkage between the payout and achieving planned objectives. Poor product definition process leads to releasing products customers don't buy. Managers are graded on the number of products released, not for releasing successful products.

    Advice to Management

Get a better understanding of what's needed to engage in the embedded microcontroller market.

Peers are great people. Everyone is very helpful in an environment where you're continuously learning.

    Cons

Squeaky mouse gets the cheese. hard to succeed with peer to peer evaluation when all your peers are driven.

    Advice to Management

Everyone is working exceptionally, why can't you reward everyone not just the loud people.

I worked at Maxim Integrated part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits are good. Coworker are mostly friendly. It satisfies at technical and career development. Flexible working hours and not so tight schedule.

    Cons

Maxim does not have agreements with MOOC websites like Pluralsight, Udemy, Coursera, etc. No free meals. Under average at compensation.

    Advice to Management

I wish Maxim to have paid paternal leaving option like Microsoft and Google have. How many times we will have a baby in a lifetime. This should not a big deal.
Doesnt have Kosher, halal etc meal options and doesnt respect to employees meal preferences...
