I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time

    Pros

Benefits were decent and the company was flexible to an extent.

    Cons

The company was too lean in personnel at the San Antonio area and would not hire legitimate personnel that would stay, due to lack of coming up with decent pay rates.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to listen to current employees and try and help with issues that were addressed in matrix sampling that was done to see where the company could do better. Afterwards try and fix the issues found.

I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

competitive pay, good location, smart co-workers

    Cons

Only the extreme end of upper management has decision making authority. My senior VP had to approve a $5k travel plan. I spent more time justifying projects and my time than actually working on projects.

    Advice to Management

Your NPI cycle and manufacturing improvements would be cut in half if you would trust director level employees to actually make decisions that involve expenditures.

I worked at Maxim Integrated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I did like the 4 days on 3 days off, 3 days on and 4 days off schedule. I liked having full coverage health insurance: medical, eye, and dental. And times they offered dollar for dollar match for 401k.

    Cons

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians (or way too many managers and none of them could agree on what the correct thing was to do). The pay raises we miniscule for operators. Sometimes only 10 cents or at the most 25 cent raises per year! How is anyone supposed to account for cost of living expenses that grow exponentially every year on a 25 cent raise?!

    Advice to Management

If you treat your employees like they are valuable assets, they will enjoy working for you. Not only that, their loyalty will grow and you'll have employees that want to stay with your company for the long haul. But that requires you giving them raises that are befitting to both their efforts and cost of living.

Talented engineers. Good roadmap. Good benefits. Competitive salary. HQ is in good location. Don't know what right any more to fit 20 words minimum

Not so talented middle management lead to bleeding talent. I need to put something here to meet 20 word minimum

    Advice to Management

    Keep and foster talent
