I worked at Maxim Staffing Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At the time i was hiredoing great manager and Recruiters

    Cons

After hiring manager and several great recruiters were promoted the ugly came to Light! The recruitersound and new manager showed the real Maxim- they lied to employees, clients and anyone who walked in the door or called on the Phone! Horrible ethics and bordered on illegal in labor law areas. Worked nurses who were under investigation by nursing board for drug and alcohol abuse charges. When I would cancel them on scheduled shifts my job was threatened...went to the point of calling corporate clinical support who supported the Manager! The outcome: visits by law enforcement to office trying to locate the nurse on drug charges. Not first time or last same happened. Would present resumes of highly qualified candidates to clients to secure a long term assignment- the catch? That person would no longer be active staff, they did not know they were being presented to a client and then recruiter would switch the employee for one of his new hires so they would work a shift and commissions were Paid! The new worker worked was usually unqualified for the position, the client would cancel their remaining schedule and take their business to another company.
It is all about the Money! Nothing more nothing less...make the numbers weekly or else!

    Advice to Management

Go back to the drawing Board! Read these reviews and comments and see that the common thread is that your reputation is that you are liars, unethical, and untrustworthy.

I worked at Maxim Staffing Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent salary (approx. $45k a year)
    - You can get promoted quickly, but that's mostly out of necessity and not merit. In other words, you end up with a lot of unqualified managers.

    Cons

    - You have to take on-call several times a month, which means receiving phone calls at all hours of the night about people who don't show up to their shifts. And you're still expected to be fully productive the next day.
    - It's a glorified telemarketing job. You spend a significant amount of time cold-calling and messaging people and hoping that they'll respond or not hang up on you.
    - They treat their nurse and nurse aid staff like crap.
    - Are stingy with how they pay their nurses and nurse aids.
    - You work in an open office with no privacy.
    - You get a half-hour break during a 9-hour work day.

    Advice to Management

    - Don't micromanage.
    - Train your managers. Don't assume that a good recruiter will make a good manager.
