    Pros

Maxim actually lives up to the dream. Celebrity events, incredible access to everything, driven people and a community environment.

    Cons

New owners have recently taken over the company and stifled the personality that made this once an amazing brand.

    Cons

Maxim does not cover rental car - this provider uses her personal vehicle for assignments

    My Maxim experience

    Dec 10, 2016 - CNA/HHA in Nashville, TN

    Pros

Maxim was a great experience. Very good training department and professional. The office was clean and compliant.

    Cons

Maxim has clients quite a distance from where I live. Some compensation was given for travel, but however more would have been better.

    Pros

Can more or less write about what you want if you manage to convince the editorial staff that "MAXIM MAN" will care about it.

    Cons

Inexperienced editorial staff that, more times than not, actually make pieces worse rather than better by inserting corny lines and rampant typos. Main editor in charge of invoicing would, in response to follow-ups about late payments, offer personal loans, but (as far as I know) he only did this to female writers. Didn't really experience a lot of ground breaking ideas/coverage plans flying around and for the most part things just seemed poorly managed, and poorly executed. Oh, and it'll take you months to get paid, and that's if they're even remotely trying to get your invoices attended to on time.

    Great internship opportunity.

    Pros

Maxim projects a great work environment where employees really enjoy interacting with one another and making work less of a hassle while still maintaining a professional atmosphere.

    Cons

Compensation was less than expected and at times I felt as though my full potential was not being completely utilized.

Use to be a great place to work at

    Pros

I use to work here back in the 2000's. It was a great place to work, people were good to work with, very laid back.

    Cons

Extremely poor upper management. Maxim and it's other magazines got bought out by capital management firm and it went completely downhill. They tried to bring in all these morons from print media and it went to crap. They didn't know what they were doing,

Great place for networking and experience across multiple platforms, not a career-oriented place you settle at

    Mar 13, 2013 - Events/Marketing in New York, NY

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Fun environment (it's Maxim), most employees are laid back and easy to get along with, excellent opportunities to carve out your own path and take on/learn new responsibilities that are outside your range of experience.

    Cons

Very long hours in the office and weekend events = poor work/life balance, no clear direction from management regarding overall brand objectives, personal responsibilities, issues/disputes with internal and external counterparts, building revenue often means sacrificing editorial integrity and employee satisfaction, raises/promotions are far and few between
