I worked at Maxima Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The going is good when you're on an assignment.

    Cons

Once you're not on an assignment, everyone who you could reach out to is suddenly inaccessible. Emails get no response or require multiple follow-ups to get a response.

    Advice to Management

Don't ditch your employees when they're in between assignments. And have more clients instead of relying on a few big ones.

I worked at Maxima Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Treat you well when you are on an assignment. Benefits are good regardless of your nature of employment - salaried or hourly. Paychecks are on time as long as you are billing.

    Cons

Everyone right from top level to marketing is very nice to you before you join and when you are on an assignment. It is when your assignment ends and they need to try to get a new contract when they reveal their true nature. Phone calls and emails don't get timely responses. The sweet talking managers and marketing folks will ignore you and treat you badly until you land another assignment. To make things worse, HR folks start issuing threats about terminating your employment since you are not billing.

    Advice to Management

Top management needs to look beyond just billing and treating employees better. Don't make promises that you do not intend to keep. Ditching an employee during a bad time of the year isn't what professional companies do. And managers need to communicate proactively with employees, not just in response to emails or phone calls.
