I worked at Maxus Global Media full-time

    Pros

Great place to begin a career in media/advertising. Fun culture, opportunity for growth/switching departments, variety of accounts to work on, startup feel

    Cons

Most accounts are under staffed so hours can be grueling, not a great record of high profile new business wins in recent years, Groupm/wpp resources can be unclear/lacking

    Advice to Management

create more programs to foster/grow young talent. Create expertise in-house for future proofing clients businesses (VR, voice search, amazon sales, etc). Create more diverse leadership team (i.e. gender).

    Pros

    Decent work/life balance
    Overall, great team chemistry
    Nice work perks with vendors

Upper management would sometimes leave team intentionally in the dark
    Client transparency lacking
    Lack of company culture

    Advice to Management

As teams grow, adapt to changes and ensure that there is transparency across all levels in order for greatest possible productivity. There were many instances where roadblocks could have been avoided if communication lines were stronger.

I have been working at Maxus Global Media full-time

    Pros

You get to work with big name clients so vendors are constantly wanting to woo you with gifts and lunches.

    Cons

Literally everything else. Poor upper management who cares nothing about their employees. Many employees last less than a year. There is a reason that Maxus has a bad rep in the industry - expect to work 12+ hours daily and work on the weekends. Do not expect any appropriate training.

    Advice to Management

You get great talent in- do what you can to nurture your staff and make the good ones stay. Constant turn over of staff means ineffective teams and barley scraping by on a day to day basis.
