    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Pay, hours available, coworkers, education, experience on resume.

    Cons

If you died, they would call your family and ask why you didn't communicate better why you weren't at work, even if they first sent a death certificate well before the shift started. I am not joking. Bad health insurance plan, too for the best hospital in the country.

    Advice to Management

You are managing human animals in a big Zoo. Remember that they have human needs.

Mayo Clinic Health systems provides competitive pay; good retirement/health/dental benefits; Mayo is a well-respective organization; and there are plenty of hours available to staff.

    Cons

Rolling schedules that change every 2 weeks for hourly employees makes it difficult to plan family get together or vacations in advance.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Sharing of knowledge across the Mayo enterprise is very good. There is also a strong possibility that you can travel the nation to work.

    Cons

Mayo talks about integration of the health system sites with Mayo in Rochester but often it feels that Rochester is dictating to the rest of us. Not everything that is okay in Rochester is okay elsewhere. It's also common to get into trouble for having an alternate opinion to that of mother Mayo.
