I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow within Mayo Clinic if you are working in the clinic. Cutting edge research. People are friendly. On site cafeteria is good and reasonably priced.

    Cons

Research group is on the background for priorities. Not much opportunity is given to fellows to cross train and learn from other departments.

    Advice to Management

Employees want to progress in career and not stay at one position/payscale. Give a chance to loyal, hardworking employees and you will have a fantastic team.

    Pros

The Mayo Clinic staff that we worked with were very nice and complimentary of our work. It was a great experience, overall.

    Cons

The Mayo Clinic staff that we worked with did not have clear goals or a clear budget to work with when they came to us for consulting.

    Advice to Management

Send a representative who has all of the information necessary for the consultant to deliver the exact goals of the company.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and work life balance

    Cons

Leadership cares too much about the bottom line. It's like the need of the commercial payer patients come first. Poor access too.

    Advice to Management

Check in on your employees and actually manage. We have so many people in our department that just screw around or don't even show up for work.

    Pros

A great company with smart doctors, who want nothing more than to help their patients. I enjoyed helping patients and making people feel good.

    Cons

I cannot think of any cons, other than the location is very far from my home. Other than the distance, there are no cons.

    Advice to Management

The only advice that I have for management is to get a location in the east valley. I would love to return to work for the company.
