I worked at Mayo Clinic full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They have good benefits, PTO, Retirement, bus passes. Some coworkers are nice, some are rude and some people are funny.

    Cons

Very disorganized, there’s absolutely no teamwork, lots of backstabbing, drama and above all, NO COMMUNICATION whatsoever!!!!! Mayo Clinic are WAY too much into themselves!!!

    Advice to Management

Get better management that actually DOES have a clue on they’re doing when it comes to staffing, budget and above all...giving staff members a STRAIGHT answer when they ask their bosses some questions!

I have been working at Mayo Clinic

    Pros

Good benefits and good pay. Providers are friendly and easily accessible. Work load is minimal and expectations are low. Technology is great

    Cons

Not as progressive as you would think, no incentive to learn more or excel, the staff is older , typically with BS not PharmDs and on their way to retirement so change is difficult.

    Advice to Management

    Don’t expect change

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great culture. Always team work, working for the best for the patient. Good benefits, with hard work and good resume you can go far in your career.

    Cons

I don't have bad things to say, more than the cafetería for employees could serve better food. For some people Mayo can be to strict and by the book.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company has good pay and good benefits. In my department we have flexible hours. I also am able to telework.

    Cons

The biggest con is communication. When there are changes or updates it is not always communicated to all areas that should know about it.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Compassionate care, brilliant physicians, the best RNs on the planet. Wonderful network of P.A.'s/N.P.'s. Great teamwork by all staff. Beautiful facilities. Good benefits. Patients love coming to Mayo.

    Cons

Mayo doesn't take all insurance and sometimes it's hard to hear when patients get turned away because they couldn't afford care.

    Advice to Management

Overall, a dream to work here.

I have been working at Mayo Clinic full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Benefits are good, PTO is great, health insurance is cheap.

    Cons

Managers treat you like a number not a person. HR doesn't do anything when you report bullying to them.

    Advice to Management

    Employees should come first.

I worked at Mayo Clinic part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Professional environment where you are treated like a person, rather than a number. Good benefits, good working conditions in most departments.

    Cons

Too much middle management and bureaucracy. PTO is plentiful, but not always easy to use. Promotions can depend on who, not what, you know.

    Advice to Management

Take accountability for unpopular decisions, don't just blame it on what 'Mayo in Rochester' is doing. Provide advancement opportunities fairly.
