I worked at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was there for about a year between 2017-8 and noticed that the company is taking measures to progressive create a better environment for staff. They have introduced initiatives such as fruits day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, flexi-benefits scheme, a work-from-home scheme and smart dressing day. Other than that, the management is approachable and willing to listen to staff who may have concerns.

    Cons

Pay scale/ increment is a little on the lower side and the workload is high. Nonetheless, these are very typical of medium-sized audit firms in Singapore.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Mazars full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mazars is a great company to work for. As an Audit Associate, you have clients in various industries which allows you to figure out what it is that you are interested in. The training program is great - you basically get to do a mock audit which is very helpful, additionally, seniors/managers want you to learn therefore there's always training on the job. lastly, the culture is great - Mazars has various different sports, book club, toastmaster and volunteer day!

    Cons

Benefits could be better and a better 401K match.

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work is rewarded. If you can show that you are handle the work load they will give you the opportunity to take on more significant roles. Partners are very involved and even as a first year staff they made sure we knew our input on the engagements was important.
Also, the opportunity to work on such a large variety of clients is a plus. They let you try different industries to see what fits for you.

    Cons

Hours. Engagements bleed over into the next much more than wrap up and review, often more time is spent on a job when you are not scheduled on it than when you were.

    Pros

Location is good. As long as you work long hours during busy season, they’ll like you.

    Cons

People are either leaving, or planning on leaving this firm. Should work on management. They don’t really care about its employees.

    I worked at Mazars full-time

    Pros

Location only as other reviewers mentioned. Times Square, Broadway, restaurants.

    Cons

No diversity. Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews. No diversity here. They fire you without warning you beforehand. Unless you need the money, don’t work there. Don’t be fooled by the positive reviews left by HR. Benefits are not existent. Believe the negative reviews.

    Advice to Management

Many people are leaving. Just look at whatever is wrong in your company.

    I worked at Mazars full-time

    Pros

    Work life integration
    Opportunity
Professional work environment and quality audit work

    Cons

Need to be in the right group and in with the right inidividuals to get good engagements.

Seems to be lots of wasted resources for initiatives that quickly fizzle

I worked at Mazars full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Workplace next to Times square
    - Lots of clients to work with
    - Gain of experience

    Cons

    - No training for interns and poor training for staff
    - No assistance from multiple incompetent seniors during your missions at the client , no help at all. There is no real team work, you are on your OWN. If you make mistakes because of external reasons (disorganization, incompetence from seniors, etc) it will be your fault. There is no guidance from HR, upper management, teams, and expectations are very high. You are mistreated and looked down upon.
    - No instant feedback during missions from seniors and managers. They will wait more than 5 months to give you their non professional observations.
    - Need better communication from HR and upper management
    - Senior / management are disorganized
    - A lot of turnover at senior level
    - A lot of staff are hired and after one year and lots of them leave or can't continue with the firm without good reason
    - Horrible benefits with high deductible
    - No clear expectations or structure
    - Don't be naive and don't be fooled
    - Unprofessional people

    Advice to Management

HR should make an effort to know their employees and work little harder in making sure that the work is equally distributed amongst the team members. Scheduling is horrible. There is a major need of improvement in how the scheduling is done.
HR and upper management should care about their interns and staff by knowing them, improve the trainings needed in order to deliver a good work.
They should improve communication towards their employees.
Be open and honest about communication along the way.
Improve your feedback system because receiving feedback until the end of the year is not normal and non professional.
For upper management, be clear about your expectations, improve your communication towards the team and not only to the manager or senior.
I recommend you to improve your team buildings skills, because there is no real team work in this firm.
