I have been working at McAfee full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Was a great location and Innovative startup (Mxlogic) that brought in great revenue and releases to the market

The last engineering leader drove releases with substance to the market and kept the unit alive

    Cons

The location is now run by an unqualified leader who is looking up and does not care about anything but his own personal career

Current leader is in collusion with his management to close the Denver location and move products elsewhere to Germany, India and UK locations

    Advice to Management

Be honest with the employees on the long term plan

Do not sell what you cannot compete with and cannot deliver

Former Employee - Siebel Administrator/EIM/Data Migration Analyst

I worked at McAfee (More than a year)

    Pros

Good compensation easy going. You can easily fit in your friends and college mates into the company at the expenses of other good employees.

    Cons

Relatives / Friends are important than work and company. Nepotism at its best mainly in IT. People work here just to show to upper management. More time is spent on drafting emails than actual work.

    Advice to Management

Take care of what is going on. Keep rotating people and managers. Please bring Intel culture.

    Pros

    good cafeteria.
When I first joined, the people around are friendly. But great minds leave the company soon.

    Cons

Intel does not care about Intel Security... so tiny for Intel's profits..
So, very little for career dev, almost no techniques enhancement or improvement.
Not clear strategy for security world, from top to middle.
Always profits is the best policy--which means-- laid-off happens, more and more often

I have been working at McAfee full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We just had our sales kickoff in Las Vegas and it was laughable how bad most if not all of the management presentations were. One of the sales managers presentation was total fluff and totally lacking of any substance.

    Cons

Ever since Intel took over all of the talented executive management left and went to other companies leaving behind the spares and bench warmers to run the company. It's pathetic at just how bad, inexperienced and immature so many of them are. They've made Intel Security a miserable place to work and people are leaving here quickly.

    Advice to Management

Bring in some new effective leadership or just shut the doors on this place

    I worked at McAfee full-time

    Pros

An interesting and necessary business category in today's society.

    Cons

Lack of direction as Intel Security, don't feel like the company is committed to the business. Sr. Management not cohesive, looking out for themselves or looking to leave the company. Unclear as to the connection between Intel and McAfee. There's a reason they are looking to sell the division.

    Advice to Management

Best to sell the division and divest of the association.
