    I worked at McAfee full-time

    Pros

You cant get bored here, great solutions and some great personalities you get to meet and dine with worldwide depending on your role. The company invests heavily in training and puts emphasis on helping you bring on your "A" game. I have not seen any other company invest so much to help folks do their jobs better and assist towards personal development.

    Cons

there is too much finger pointing when things go wrong. Rather than focus on the actual problem and try to resolve, too much energy/time / emails / calls are wasted trying to put the blame on someone. You don't want to make mistakes here ,each mistake can generate a patch of grey hair so its best to "collaborate" and spread the risk

    Advice to Management

change the blame culture and continue to help true talent flourish

I have been working at McAfee full-time

    Pros

Some great people in teams around the world, good compensation and benefits. Good brand awareness and market share.

    Cons

I've worked here for over 5 years, in that time we have had 4 CMOs. Our strategy has changed on an annual basis to, culminating in the culling of huge swathes of the portfolio in 2015.
In EMEA the new head is a very sound person with a good vision but supported by some startlingly awful individuals in key positions.
Increasing centralisation of marketing functions is appalling and demotivating to teams in the regions and the company seems to lurch from one dogmatic framework to another with no constructive dialogue on the options.
If you are a 'yes' person you will get on well especially in the US.

    Advice to Management

Get acquired. I can't see much future otherwise. Stick to a strategy for more than a year and try to stop the staff churn.

I have been working at McAfee full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Really good team spirit. Morale is excellent, product-set is really good and valid for right now, not just selling roadmap.
Sales and SEs work as a team, no 'them and us' attitudes here.
Great management team, not up themselves but treat you as an equal.
Training is plentiful and well organised- SEs need training to keep sharp, and they deliver. Travelling to training in another country isn't a big deal, no penny pinching here.

    Cons

The Slough office is a little tired, but this is really the only con I can see at this point

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, you're doing a good job so far- treating the staff like grown ups is a refreshing change in this industry

I have been working at McAfee full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility is a massive factor for most people staying. Good strategy for future growth and outlook positive with recent changes in senior management team

    Cons

No career path, political. Marketing budgets pathetic. Team demotivated. Not seeing the benefits yet of integration with Intel; if anything becoming less personable and more bureaucratic. Intel Security seems to be the poor relation.

    Advice to Management

Trust your team and treat them like grown-ups

    Pros

Great brand credibility, especially being part of Intel!

    Cons

Extremely poor senior leadership...VP level....absolutely no accountability, no vision, political nightmare, case of biding time and passing the buck on....

    Advice to Management

They should definitely re-introduce a skip level meeting into the mix if they want to retain good talent....most good employees are staying back purely on the strength of the brand....but the organisation is definitely going downhill if they continue their lack of focus on results and instead motivate employees to become political weasels!
