I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time

    Pros

Like a classic advertising slogan, McCann is "New and improved". Strong culture with lots of social activities- especially good if you've recently moved to NY. Striving for great creative not simply meeting client expectations. Variety of businesses to work on especially in creative.

    Cons

Some clients don't want all the great work we present which can be frustrating. If you're shy you can get lost in the background. You have to work hard to keep yourself front and center.

I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Good salary -Happy hour/creative dpmt has a lot of nice people -Generous PTO -Tom and Sean are great and really care about their creatives -WFH flexibility (depending on what team you're on)

    Cons

-Account gives creative feedback and is sometimes valued more than creative. -Sometimes we just give up and make mediocre work to call it a day. -If you're stuck on a bad account, it can be awful. -Lots of layers/red tape -Almost impossible to sell good ideas (have to be in the right place at the right time, or on the right client at the right time) -A bit sexist (women asked to work on specific brands and don't get the same opportunities as male counterparts)

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Thursday happy hours Most creatives are pretty cool Benefits are okay NY CCOs are nice

    Cons

Creative dept is shady. Not a friendly place for POC. Kinda sexist too. Leadership does one PR stunt a year and the agency leverages it to show their "world class creative." Everyone else gets to make banner ads and not produce things. Things are sliding fast. New business wins are retail and pharma accounts, which should tell you something. Work life balance is abysmal. I don't know a single creative who is happy.

I worked at McCann Worldgroup full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good dedicated creatives and account people, not enough business.

    Cons

Agency has lost some major accounts. New York office is not much of a team player. Old school agency leadership.

I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Some really great people work here. The new space is beautiful, but really it's about the people.

    Cons

Women are poorly treated here. Management pretends to embrace women, but it's still a boys club. No much work-life balance. Career paths are poorly defined.
