I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Top notch agency that truly focuses on impacting culture, in addition to being driven to drive their client's profit. There are thursday happy hours and events that encourages people to socialize.

    Cons

Hard work and long days are common, and raises are hard to get. The culture could be a bit better. No free snacks, very expensive cafe (restaurant). People can sometimes be stuck in their cyclos.

    Advice to Management

Free snacks and at least a 2 percent raise after being there for a year (specially because NYC is getting very expensive).

I have been working at McCann Worldgroup full-time

    Pros

    - Very strong and supportive culture
    - Tons of employee engagement
    - Recently strong creative output
    - Probably dependent on client and position, but I've had lots of freedom with using my time how I deem best, balancing work & personal, etc as long as I perform.
    - Very few large egos to contend with.
    - For the most part, strong recognition of talent based on merit

    Cons

    - Pay could be higher.
    - Account management could/should be a bit stronger in helping drive client decision making vs simply responding to client requests.
    - Despite being a very modern agency in terms of employee relations, the output is still quite traditional.
    - Work/life balance has not been a huge issue for me, but there is a feeling of being understaffed in account management and creative. I've seen and heard of exceptionally long hours for those departments.

    Pros

Like a classic advertising slogan, McCann is "New and improved". Strong culture with lots of social activities- especially good if you've recently moved to NY. Striving for great creative not simply meeting client expectations. Variety of businesses to work on especially in creative.

    Cons

Some clients don't want all the great work we present which can be frustrating. If you're shy you can get lost in the background. You have to work hard to keep yourself front and center.

    Advice to Management

Get to know everyone. Give people their shot. Hire more creative account people who know how to sell. Reward them.
