      Pros

Employees empowered to be entrepreneurial and grow.

      Cons

The two people who ran the company made all decisions, and no one else really had a say or stake in the direction of the company.

      Advice to Management

If you cling too tightly, you're gonna lose control.

I worked at McCarthy Mambro Bertino full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

They had some good clients and some great creatives. It had a lot of great people to work with. Flexible schedule (for creatives anyway) - and is run from a creative POV.

      Cons

Absolutely no management skills - no HR process - no training or employee development. It's what you get when creatives run the shop.

      Advice to Management

Obviously put some thought into retention and making the most of your most important asset - the people.

I have been working at McCarthy Mambro Bertino full-time for less than a year

      Pros

They have summer Fridays, free coffee/snacks, dogs in the office, and a good work life balance. It's great if your boss is great. Unfortunately a lot of the upper management is not great.

      Cons

It's a lot of mind-numbing, unfulfilling work. If you aren't in the C-suite or at least in with them, you'll spend most of your time fighting to get your ideas heard. Most of the ideas and decisions come from the people with the loudest mouths and biggest egos, not the people who actually have good ideas/make good decisions. It's not collaborative at all. Also, total boys' club.

      Advice to Management

Pay people what they deserve, encourage collaboration, and leave your egos at the door. Experience =/= intelligence.

I worked at McCarthy Mambro Bertino full-time

      Pros

Great work culture, great benefits and work perks. Very "cool" office - in style and attitude. These people know how to have a great time.

      Cons

Passive aggressive management, very resistant to change. Creative dept. and Account dept. are very polarized, too much ego in the creative department. Absolutely no room for growth. HR is disorganized and puts very little thought into who they hire. Lots of nepotism. Hire and fire people for absolutely no reason. Does not inspire loyalty or overall job satisfaction.

      Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, offer education and room for growth. Be straightforward with them.

I worked at McCarthy Mambro Bertino full-time for less than a year

      Pros

The work/life balance was great, generous holidays, summer Fridays. Overall, a great, down to earth bunch of people, who are dying to do good work, but the client roster isn't really there.

      Cons

Little growth opportunity and the work was very, very dull. Bad client roster. Few opportunities for exposure across accounts.

      Advice to Management

Learn how to foster growth amongst young people in the company; invest more in bore educational and team building activities.
