I have been working at McCormick & Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Everyone who comes to work here, stays. That is extremely rare to find these days. And, even if you start at an hourly position (like in the plant), you very well could find yourself working your way into corporate.

    Cons

Due to heavy acquisition, several businesses are treated like stepchildren as compared to the base herbs & spices business.

    Advice to Management

Streamline the organization to make all businesses equal in terms of attention and resources.

I worked at McCormick & Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Its a big company and they can pay you well

    Cons

If you are in HR or are considering a the Plant HR Manager position at McCormick, I recommend that you pass it up. They have fired so many HR Mangers. Every time they get one in they let them go. After you have termed that many good people, you have to assume its the company and not the people.

    Advice to Management

    Support the people you hire.

I worked at McCormick & Company for more than 5 years

    Pros

People were nice. Each day was a little different which was nice. Was sent out of state on a couple occasions.

    Cons

The money. This app would not allow me to go back as far as I needed. Left in 1994. To be fair, the retail sales rep working directly for the manufacturer had gotten too expensive.

    Advice to Management

Great company to work for, but income was sub-par

I have been working at McCormick & Company

    Pros

Good benefits. Stock. Great. employees to work with

    Cons

McCormick had a history of being a sought after, family and people oriented organization which was a sought after place to work in the Baltimore area. Unfortunately this culture has dramatically changed for the worse in the past ten years. This culture has been pushed to the side to achieve short-term profits employees have become disposable. The “good old boys club “culture has taken over at the expense of any up...

I worked at McCormick & Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Opportunity to learn and grow as an employee with room for advancement if you "fit' the norm. Company values are spoken continuously but not always followed. Compensation is good if you stick with it.

    Cons

Upper management has bogged down the company in analysis paralysis. The accounting teams are now running the sales functions with answers to opportunities long gone by the time you need them. No trust among employees of management as of recently. New hires do not have a compensation plan to compare job offers as management will not publish and HR has no backbone to demand it. If you like meetings this is the place for...

    Advice to Management

Simplify the business and get the accountants back to where they belong. It's after all a people business and you have the wrong people running it.
