I have been working at McDaniel College full-time

    Pros

Small class sizes. Most instructors are passionate about their teaching. The students are great.

    Cons

Low pay. Not much transparency in the administration.

    Advice to Management

The demographics and needs of the students seem to be changing much more rapidly than management can adjust. Need to ramp up emphasis on the interdisciplinary nature of liberal arts education.

I have been working at McDaniel College full-time

    Pros

People at McDaniel are truly student centered. Everyday, I see people go the extra mile. There are great students here and a community that really believes in what they are doing.

    Cons

It's a very tough time in higher ed, and the financial pressures are increasing stress as everyone has to achieve more with less.

    Advice to Management

There have been statements made about administrative salaries that appear to be misleading. They need to be addressed. Publicly combating poor student behavior including some oppressive statements made about certain disenfranchised populations, addressing alcohol and drug use, and seeking ways to really build a community based on the First Principles should be a focus.
