    I worked at McDonald's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Meet lots of interesting people
    - Understanding the fast food process

    Cons

I worked the early hour grill cook shift starting at 5am and was responsible for the cooking and filling of orders while the other 2 employees from grave yard shift completed their duties for their shift and took orders. This was great at first but they gradually kept piling more duties on me as time went on and I began to question why I was suddenly responsible for the things the 8am workers should be doing since keeping up with the grill orders was overwhelming already (especially at the switch hour from breakfast to lunch)

-Everytime I got sick I was talked down to for not coming into work because they couldn't get anyone to cover me since I was the only person willing to work such early hours. (despite them insisting that we should stay home if sick and NOT come to work)

At one point I was so sick I ended up in the hospital, this made the managers angry instead of concerned. They demanded I call the store manager even though I was in the emergency department in intense pain and needing to undergo surgery.

    - Rotten management (No respect or concern for employee health or welfare)
    - Too many responsibilities for one person (felt like they were singling me out since I was new)
    - Exposed to extreme heat for long periods of time
    - Cramped area with too many people often times.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better and at least pretend to care.

    I worked at McDonald's part-time

    Pros

    Every week pay was good

    Cons

    I worked at McDonald's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One Free lunch on shift, variety of hours you can work, meeting random new people, some of the staff makes the time go by fast

    Cons

Management thinks they know everything, customers are very rude and will try to rob you so it takes a good eye to make sure you are careful, very poor pay

    Advice to Management

More raises, help employees out instead of sitting in the break rooms all shift

    Pros

it is very easy to get hired, if you are absolutely desperate for work then this is an option

    Cons

I was 16 when I worked there, my manager was sexist and called me "sexy lady" and told me I had "the body of a woman." After a year of working I received a 10 cent raise. Most of the upper management was very rude and spoke poorly to the employees. They also had illegal business practices like making employees clock out during the hours they were scheduled to work when business was slow. I believe management has changed hands since I worked there so hopefully these problems have been resolved

I worked at McDonald's (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible Schedules and easy training.

    Cons

Poor work place ethics and relationships.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that you keep workplace etiquette. This is still a business you are running,
and at the store I was working at there was a lot of poor boundaries between employees.

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (More than a year)

    Cons

    Everything
    Bad management
    bad pay
    worked too hard
Asked to do tasks that aren't allowed to be done by under 18 year olds

I worked at McDonald's (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A week's paid vacation after you've been there a year but they run their employees off before that year most times

    Cons

The McDonald's in front of peddlers mall in Richmond KY doesn't appreciate anything you do for them. They just let you do the dirty work while the main managers sit on the office!

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your workers! And what at all they do for you!

    I worked at McDonald's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, will help with college (with stipulations), fast-paced.

    Cons

Absolutely never again in a million years. The managers did anything but manage, up to and including playing with their phone the whole time they were there or not paying their employees overtime to make their own paychecks better. Ridiculous demands of a disabled person and 17 year old high school student (at the time) such as "we can't send you home whenever you have these...whatever they are" (never asked to leave, only to take five minutes to calm down and openly mocking me during service hours. I was sexually harassed by two coworkers and eventually assaulted by one. As a minor, curfew was 10pm; I was consistently told (not asked) to stay until 11 pm for menial tasks like dishwashing. I once had to work a 16 hour shift because coworkers didn't come in and only got a 10 minute break about 12 hours in. 0/10, would never, ever work there again.

    Advice to Management

Make corporate do a surprise, plainclothes visit and observe. Learn about the Americans with Disabilities Act and about Reasonable Accommodations. Make your employees feel safe enough to report harassment and
