    I worked at McDonald's full-time

    Pros

Some very talented people, free coffee, great prestigious history, trying to get to Scrum/Agile, Charities, working towards a more precise model and slowly cleaning up broken silo systems/depts. The people who lit up about their glory years and would answer emails and take the time to teach and learn and improve.

    Cons

Probably the most disorganized, bloated, indecisive, dysfunctional environment I've ever seen. Hierarchy needs to be flattened in order to be ahead of problems instead of pretending in meetings they aren't playing catch up or put a "team plan" together that will fix problems. Loyalty of Managers and even co-workers was non-existent by many. Stab in the back over a McJob; no thank you. Communication was so poor and diluted that projects that were to be run in unison were competing and hemorrhaging money. Gossip was rampant. That building is not Fortune 50 caliber or safe.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to restructure as the gossip was pointing to; use specialists and do it transparently and with respect. Also, remove the bloat. There are way too many people in most departments. The results of changing vendors and resources shows in the lack of documentation, repeatable process and redundancy of work, poorly performing IT/business software, patchwork in the "system"

Anyone can become profitable by cutting cost, benefits and jobs. It takes a special organization and group of managers who can keep the culture/history the same, take care of their employees and still increase profits and not by stepping on people in the process. Get a true inventory system.
