I have been working at McGill University Health Centre full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - You get to work on different projects.
    - You learn a lot.
    - Most people are nice, welcoming and passionate about their work.

    Cons

    - Projects are put on hold due to budget cuts and limited resources.
    - Few corporate benefits.
    - Few opportunities for career advancement.
    - The departments that I worked for had workplace bullying. I was never a victim, but it was not a healthy environment. It was reported to upper management and HR, but nothing was done. Keep in mind that there are great departments within the MUHC with wonderful superiors. I was just unlucky.

    Advice to Management

    - Value your employees
    - Show appreciation for the work they do
    - Don't micro-manage. Trust your employees.
