I have been working at McGrath Auto full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunities, if you can handle long hours and work to improve you will advance.

    Cons

You never know when you may be staying late to help a customer, that's the life of retail.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees time. If it is dead and they have completed everything they need to, you don't need to keep everyone until close.

    Pros

    The McGrath Family is nice.

    Cons

You are just a number, as soon as you decide to move on to a new company and place your notice, instead of applauding your growth, they fire you on the spot.

    Advice to Management

Keep an eye on Middle Management. They abuse their powers.

I have been working at McGrath Auto full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company has a desire for you to succeed and provides you with the tools to do so. It is family owned and operated and there are multiple McGrath Family members at work each day and they are all great to work with. Promotion happens from within and as long as you make yourself the Obvious Choice you are a candidate for any position regardless of your current job title.

    Cons

Balancing the hours can become difficult at sometimes but that is throughout the automotive industry, not just for any of these dealerships.

I have been working at McGrath Auto full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

McGrath has a very friendly atmosphere with a lot of training from various departments. They have a very clean service department which add value to their brand.

    Cons

Forget about having any two days off in a row and be prepared to work very long hours. The day starts at 8:30 to 9pm on Monday and Thursday nights. Sales people stay longer when a customer is finishing up in the business office.

    Advice to Management

Put in a lighted "Service Department" sign to help customers better recognize where they need to get service especially for new service customers. Saw many park and ask where the service department is.
