I have been working at McGraw-Hill full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Flexibility, Work life balance, great coworkers

    Cons

Yearly restructures and people being let go. Company dynamic is changing as MH shifts from publisher to eLearning. What we used to manage in publishing, we now also manage in eBooks, etc. Workload had greatly increased over past few years and management has turned a blind eye to it.

    Advice to Management

Stop eliminating positions while increasing number of product offerings and expecting better results.

I have been working at McGraw-Hill full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

McGraw-Hill is full of extremely passionate individuals who are hardworking and want to have an impact on education.

    Cons

Lack of diversity in new hires and promotions. New leadership is full of men who represent the company but show poor values and little strategy. Everybody is stretched thin and compensation is ridiculously low. Leadership consistently points us in a reactive direction. The culture right now is extremely poor. People are leaving left & right.

I have been working at McGraw-Hill full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Good pay, reasonable benefits, middle management seems to listen to serious issues.

    Cons

Company is so desperate to change their face and tactics that they often alienate a large portion of their existing customers and products. New CEO's statements are very vague, no idea where this company is headed.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to rush into the "next new thing" and focus on building strong, solid products and services that our customers expect.
