    Pros

They have been very good to me i get overtime and I put 2 kids through college with their help,I would never want to work anywhere else. The McKee's have been like family,I never been afraid to ask anything because the worst that can be said is no.I tell everybody how good they are and if stores don't carry our product I don't shop there.

    Cons

The only thing I can say is we have ppl there that aren't bosses but sure think they we are all equal at Mckee's.

    Advice to Management

I wish they could back yrs ago and tell the ppl if they don't like working there instead of not doing there job, don't let the door hit them on the way out.

    Pros

Competitive salary, profit sharing, competitive benefits, work environment that encourages growth and development, open forum for new ideas, family owned company

    Cons

many decisions are still made anecdotally and are not fact based, current culture does not tolerate or adapt to change very well

    Advice to Management

Many tactics that contributed to getting us where we are today are still relevant. However, our industry is changing very rapidly, and we should evaluate every aspect of the way we do things to make sure our business model stays relevant. Look for opportunities to capitalize on our brand strength outside of our current product portfolio.

I worked at McKee Foods full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This was a wonderful company to work for. The environment was positive and everyone was treated fairly. It is a family run company and when you work there you feel like you are part of the family.

    Cons

At this company there are a lot of long term employees. This is good in one aspect, but leaves little room for advancement.

I have been working at McKee Foods full-time

    Pros

Good wages and benefits. A family like work enviroment.

    Cons

To many people resistant to change. To many people holding on to "sacred cows".

    Advice to Management

encourage innovation. Encourage people to get rid of their "sacred cows" Don't accept mediocrity and excuses from senior managers. Don't try so hard to coddle those resistant to change. They drag all of us down

    Pros

Benefits, company vehicle, excellent sales force and always support from the bakery

    Cons

Distribution system sometimes can hurt our business with negative distributors. Profitability can be low for the independent distributors because company makes us put on new locations every year

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your sales reps

I have been working at McKee Foods as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great employees, culture, and values. If you're needing job stability and a company that values your work/life balance, then McKee's is probably a good fit for you.

    Cons

The pay isn't as competitive as other places, but profit sharing makes up for that. Doesn't apply to interns though, which is understandable. McKee's isn't a good fit for someone looking for a fast-paced, rapid-growth workplace.

    Advice to Management

I'd recommend taking more risks on a small scale. The company grows slowly and steadily, which is great, but it makes the company appear less innovative.

    Pros

Great culture. Everyone is very nice and welcoming. My immediate boss was very nurturing and she has taught me a lot so far. The pay is great for someone just out of college with no debt.

    Cons

I don't receive benefits because I'm an intern even though I work full time hours. I'm not eligible for PTO.

    Advice to Management

Office some perks besides pay to interns.
