    Pros

Company encourages continued learning and offers a lot of educational materials and sessions online.
    Very good benefit package

    Cons

Being a large company with many product offerings, staffing cuts during slowing business times can seem extreme due to the numbers of reductions.

I worked at McKesson Practice Partner full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good exposure to all facets of EHR sales, service, implementation and development. Work with exceptional clients who just need issues resolved.

    Cons

Prepare to work long hours to learn your role and that of many others, as accountability and transparency is lacking throughout the organization. A constantly updated organizational chart would serve the company well.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and act on feedback from individual contributors to improve the organization's services offerings.

    Pros

Very good group of people; interesting industry; opportunity to impact how your work is done; more focus on improvement for future than in the past; good health benefits packages expected of such a large company.

    Cons

Small piece of a VERY large company; not given enough of a share of revenue from other parts of business to impact opportunity to make large-scale improvements/updates to product. LOTS of work with limited resources.

    Advice to Management

You've got smart people working for you. Listen to/involve them when making major decisions.

I have been working at McKesson Practice Partner full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Had flex hours. Could go in early in the morning and get out early afternoon.

    Cons

Micro managed, back stabbing employees more interested in causing mayhem than actually doing their job. Low salary, high expectations.

    Advice to Management

Stop the toxic cycle of gossip and raise wages.

    Pros

Great coworkers and really care about the customer. Try all they can to do a great job with the tools and support they have. Most of my coworkers loved their job and always went to bat for their customers. we were respectful of each other and made some lifetime friends.

    Cons

Management lacks leadership or empathy for customers. Never let the dust settle on a change before they make another revamp of processes and never appear to reflect on how those changes impact the customer or staff. More concerned with the money/budget.

    Advice to Management

Remember customer satisfaction and be more loyal to good staff. Laying off good knowledgeable people cost a bigger price than the immediate savings.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at McKesson Practice Partner full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Upward mobility, to a point, though your pay won't follow you very well. McKesson had a cap on max allowed raise when promoted, no matter what you were promoted from and to.
You can learn quite a bit here. Often, especially as a T.E. you are exposed to technology that's pretty new. However, McKesson/Practice Partner is antiquated and doesn't keep up with the times very well, so you will have to tell customers to downgrade or not use some technologies.
A lot of the people that work there are good workers that know their stuff. If you get "stuck" on something, it's quite likely that someone on your team can help, and will help without hesitation.

    Cons

Long days for the T.E.s Crazy metrics that changed on a monthly basis made it very difficult to know what to do to get a good end of year review (which your raise would of course be based on). Lots of useless meetings. Money is the bottom line - doesn't matter what work/life balance you have, if you're sick etc. - they just want to know how they can squeeze another dollar out of customers, and why you as the employee haven't done that yet.

    Advice to Management

I've been gone for a few years, but still exposed to McKesson / PP on the peripheral and I see that the mis-management is still present in some areas.

invest more in new SAAS solution to get it more competitive

    Pros

Above average benefits, most of the rank and file employees were really nice, and the work was fun.

    Cons

The management, and especially the upper management, are horrible to work with. They spent little to no effort reaching out to the people doing the real work at the company and people are micromanaged to the point of ludicrousity.
