I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Time off policy, work/life balance

    Cons

The company will hire outside the company rather than look at quailfied candidates already at the company. Also a lot of nepatism.

    Advice to Management

See what your employees have offer. They are some of your best applicants.

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I get paid almost on time and the right about every two weeks

    Cons

Management is sorry from supervisors minus a few on up to the top. The insurance is outrageously high with high deductibles. They have this saying you spoke we listened. OK you listened but you don't do anything with what you heard. Alot of favoritism. And God forbid if you disagree with management your then targeted. They have an open door policy...... You better not use it because everyone will know what you said. NOTHING IS CONFIDENTIAL. HR is a joke they can't help you with anything there answer to everything is here call this 800 number.

    Advice to Management

This would be useless they already know they have been given advice many times.

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fortune 5 Company, good C suite level leadership

    Cons

Scottsdale location - Chaotic, Frenetic, Poor Systems, NO work-life balance, Exempt Sweat Shop

    Advice to Management

    * iLead and iCare are NOT being attained throughout the organization.
    * MSO leadership - the last employee opinion survey was so bad, the results were not published. Next year when the results continue to reflect poorly, it will be attributed to being "a transition year". How long will this excuse be used to dismiss poor leadership across the business unit?

I have been working at McKesson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, after 5 years you'll increase to over $17/hr, benefits. As long as you show up for work you wont get fired.

    Cons

No one works together to get the job done. Being lazy is acceptable. Every area you work in makes the same pay.. hard to move up in the company with few lead or supervisor positions. Your recognition depends on who your friends with not how hard you work.

    Advice to Management

Higher from experience and not from age. Your stressing the veterans out and its made it harder for them to even want to put forth an effort. Be more visible and open minded. Offer some kind of incentives for different work areas. You may find that more people will want to work there.

I have been working at McKesson full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to be part of projects that will affect the bottom line. Work/life balance is pretty will respected. If you're willing to move across country, there is plenty of room for advancement.

    Cons

Must be willing to move across country for best advancement opportunities. Some projects are dead ends, but you still must see them through to completion. There was some mismanagement of recent relocation to Texas, but overall management seems to be solid.

    Advice to Management

Mismanagement of recent relocation move means that there will be a few messes to clean up. Be on the lookout for your star employees and treat them well.

    Cons

Yearly RIFs every spring while corporation acquires more companies, management communication is awful, customer service is more of a marketing scheme than a reality, old boys club is alive and well

    Advice to Management

Stop gobbling up other companies and clean your own house. Provide real opportunities to women, people of color and other diverse populations

I have been working at McKesson full-time

    Pros

Good benefits package, competitive salary once have been at company for a while. Great reputation in the marketplace, worked with some really good people

    Cons

Long hours, disorganized - throw in to fire. Leadership took a nosedive after 2014. Seem to be hiring less quality people.

    Advice to Management

Allocate enough resources to projects and teams. Take the time to strategize. Each employee has distinct drivers for success. Think long and hard about the talent you put in key roles. PROTECT YOUR PEOPLE AND SET THEM UP FOR SUCCESS. VPs, quit hiding away and actually engage and communicate to your underlings.
