I have been working at McKinsey & Company full-time

    Pros

Great Firm to work for, however not consistent policies/respect between office locations sadly - even though the mission statement states otherwise.

    Cons

Very gossipy and toxic work environment, very incompetent and uncaring management in Toronto and San Jose Costa Rica offices. Poor hiring practices, low salaries for long thankless hours. Too much rhetoric and talk, too little action and slow adoption/change to technology and security. It's a call center folks!

    Advice to Management

Extreme corruption and mistrust in the Toronto and San Jose Costa Rica offices. An awful mess for high level leadership to sort out, unbelievable and unfortunate. Uncaring and uninspiring to say the least, from low level management up to CIO.

I worked at McKinsey & Company as an intern

    Pros

Well established practices and systems.Decent salaries. Great cafeteria, provide breakfast items, lots of activities to share information on accomplished proyects and tools

    Cons

Gap between interns and experience workers. Interns are not truly mentored, professional jealousy and unprofessional behavior and attitudes. Money is thrown on unnecessary activities which are not all rapport positive. Lots of pressure.

    Pros

Their policies regarding inclusion and benefits for LGBTI members is getting to be a good one (for the context) The atmosphere is overall peaceful and you can network your way to management positions with relative ease. They offer the basic benefits like an average health plan, transportation, corporate financial accounts, monthly lunches, snacks, etc.

    Cons

The physical space is a mess. Different offices in different free-zones, which are poorly managed. There is favoritism, which either makes it (or breaks it) for most people. The on-site physician is one of the worst services I have experienced.

    Advice to Management

Management is very average. It is exactly what you could expect from this type of company. I was never part of it, so it is hard to give them advise. It would be very important to get rid of favoritism. It is neither terrible nor a good management, just average.
